Its the passengers of Non A/C Sleeper and General class that throw all the trash. There should be a rule/law for the passengers to carry out their own trash. May be railways hire trash collectors to make rounds in the train coaches collecting trash at every station the train stops. If needed Trash collection fee should be added to the fare.

It was really interesting to see the air intake window of the engine room being clogged by plastics, paper and all. Such powerful intake strokes by the engines. Edit 1: Yes. You guys are correct. That seems to be the intake for cooling systems. And if in fact that is for cooling systems, there has to be a negative pressure gradient there. And if the air intake is being clogged, then the gradient will increase further. Does Railways do anything to avoid this menace? Or this doesn't happen because the pressure gradient stays more or less adequate because of the large intake area? Either way. this is so cool.
