This reminded of movies going from bad to worse.. to terrible.. like Back to the Future.. Karate Kid.. *now this one* . Rise.. was *more* realistic in its storytelling.. *especially now* with this virus that we *now* are quarantined from in 2020. Dawn.. was a little unrealistic.. but okay. And War.. was *absolutely ridiculous!!!* NOT believable *at all!* Ceaser.. the ape.. said that he has a "wife" .. *WIFE???* WHO married them???? It would of been *MORE* believable, if they ONLY DID sign language, *INSTEAD OF* speaking English. But I *must say* that this film is A LOT BETTER than the *original* 1970's version of "Planet of the Apes".. now *THAT* was *RIDICULOUS!!!!*

If they aren't going to recognize Andy Serkis in the best actor category (which he deserves)here needs to be a new Academy Award category, best Voice/Motion capture performance. If they already has this, Serkis would already be a multiple nominee (Fellowship, Return of the king, Dawn/Rise of the planet of the apes). There would be multiple Pixar nominees like Ellen and Ed O'Neil (Finding Dory), Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and the guy that played BingBong (Inside Out), Holly Hunter (Incredibles), Patrick Warburton Emperor's New Groove. They need to start getting recognized for their awesome performances. If Robert Downey Jr can get $50 million a movie to act like himself and have a stunt double to all of MoCap action, Auli'i Cravalho should get recognition for being an awesomely acted bad ass Polynesian Disney Princess.

Yes. It may be a franchise, but like MobileSpace has pointed out, its more than that. It feels like a story that needed to be told in multiple installments, unlike films like the Hobbit trilogy that was stretched and outstayed its welcome. These films took the right steps and did not lose their way and try to be a full on cash grab and did what people wanted.

The movie had heart. Every character has his resons and motivations. The character development was on point, wich is incredibly hard to do when you already had 2 movies spent with Caesar, but they still handled it brilliantly.And the acting... man, they successfully passed the uncanny valley and got straight to the summit of relatable. Amazing movie. In a time of lifeless action blockbusters it was exactly what I missed.

I actually wasn't originally too excited to see this movie, but this review is changing my mind. It definitely intrigues me much more after hearing Jeremy say it's not as much of a war-filled/action movie as the trailers/commercials are painting it out to be. I loved Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but wasn't too crazy about Dawn, because I felt like it wasn't as smart. It was more about the conflict/war between humans and apes (I know that's what this franchise is about) whereas Rise was all about Caesar's rise to power and him learning/finding his way and using his superior intellect to become a leader. If War for the Planet of the Apes is more of a dramatic/cerebral film, then I think I'll enjoy it much more than I first anticipated.

That's the problem I had! I expected a lot more action-filled/exciting elements to this film but it was more drama, which is fine, just I was not prepared for such a slow-paced film. Literally the intro and conclusion were phenomenal, however that big chunk, almost the entire middle of the film, was agonizingly slow and slightly dull. THOUGH, that is my only complaint. The atmosphere, characters, theme, conflict, music and cinematography was astonishing.

The fact that the studio rose its embargo for this movie three weeks before its release really shows the studio's confidence in it.

I don't see what everyone's raving about. Did we see the same movie? I loved the first two but this... this just didn't strike a cord with me. The movie was a 2/5 at best for me. I have no idea why it's getting universal praise. There is just so much wrong with this movie I'm not going to bother typing paragraph upon paragraph about it. This movie already stole 2 and a half hours from me.

I definitely agree I didn't think it was a shit movie but damn everyone is freaking out about it like it was something amazing

Best Actor Nominees for 2017 so far: 1. James McAvoy-Split 2. Hugh Jackman-Logan 3. Andy Serkis-War for the Planet of the Apes. (And you know what, let's throw Daniel Day Lewis in there for his "final" performance. We all know it will happen.) 4. Daniel Day Lewis-Phantom Thread

When he said that there was more drama than action, I was getting really worried, but now that he gave his verdict to awesometacular, I got so happy because this was the one movie I was looking forward to all year and im so glad that it can now be considered as one of the best trilogies ever

I just watched it. It's not bad, but the other two are far superior. It is really tough to get through insole spots. Very slow. Too much reading.

Kameron Moinian could’ve been easily an hour shorter. The script was pretty mundane tbh.

I've been watched this series ever since Rise. And so far, Caesar is the only protagonist that I've been attached to since first movie. I know he's not a human, but I've always rooting for him. He has more charismas than any human characters. APES. TOGETHER. STRONG!!@@

I thought it was extremely meh, went on for too long and used way too many cop out plot points.

THIS SCRIPT WAS GARBAGE are you kidding me? This film has gotten WORSE for me as I've thought about it. You have to suffer through TWO HOURS OF BOREDOM with the most forced melodramatic soundtrack ever for a "final battle" that SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT ends in a freaking avalanche. Are you kidding? That was such a cop out! The entire purpose/mission for the apes in the film was RETREAT! How lame and boring. They should have had an epic battle with the colonel and his men, then taken over the base and built their kingdom from there, claiming dominance. The director is clearly obsessed with Biblical parables and everyone holding hands singing Kumbaya. Apes are territorial creatures... and for them to take over the entire planet it should have been more of a... I don't know... WAR! Lamest entry in the series and really took the air out of the entire effort of the films for me. Gonna have to rewatch Dawn to remind myself how I feel about that one now..

I loved it but it should have been called rise and war the 2 and dawn the 1 the name was misleading
@magtinfal79087 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU. This movie was trash. A bunch of apes being endlaved then getting out then 1 battle between people and other people? Where the fuck does "war" fit into any of that? I felt like I was watching an ape version of Roots.
@user-uy3eq5hg1s7 жыл бұрын
When Jeremy raved about this film and dumped on Dunkirk I had to unsubscribe... it's not a matter of opinion... the Apes script is actually a very poorly written script... and the movie really is boring with a middle section that feels borderline pointless. I'm still pissed off about that cop out ending. The director was like "okay guys we lied to them about the war part... so let's put in some huge explosions for no reason at the end." SO LAME!
@gudboah46887 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you people have the attention span of five-year olds. Unsubscribing because Jeremy has a different opinion. This movie was more than just mindless actions scenes. It was a movie of emotion, character, and struggle.
