I work projection in a theater currently. Last week when we got Transformers the studio actually sent us a letter about the shifting aspect ratios! They honestly felt the need to warn us this was NOT "a fault with the drive" but "a choice by the filmmakers". Honest to God while checking it I still though the drive was busted thanks to the rapidly changing ratios. I feel your pain, Jeremy.

*+xELiTEScOpEsx1* & *+Daniel_Makikieth4_현우 Cho* I don't hate *2* by any means even if it's not a favorite, I think it gets more hate than it deserves compared to *4-5.* I may have liked it more if they'd changed the following: *1) Keep Optimus dead so his sacrifice would mean something, instead of reviving him an hour and 1/2 later.* Prime's fight leading up to it was great but I wasn't shocked or sad at all. It was just far too predictable for me. There's no good reason everyone else together shouldn't have been able to stop Megatron & the Fallen, the "It MUST be a Prime" excuse was weak imo. Sam's "destiny" arc was even sillier and is never brought up again in *3.* They could've saved Prime's resurrection as a surprise for *3,* to give hope after the invasion. Part of why the 1986 film worked was because leads' deaths had more impact. At least *3-4* had the balls to kill off Ironhide + Ratchet. *2) Delay production so the crew could take more time to polish the CGI.* The final fight against Megatron and The Fallen took such a blatant nose-dive in effects, it was like a video game. For the final product, that's INEXCUSABLE. *3) Remove Skids and Mudflap.* Controversy aside, their characters were stupid and added NOTHING to the plot or humor to me. The same goes for Leo, Wheelie, Alice, etc. The one comic-relief I'd keep is probably Simmons. They could've used this time to further develop characters fans would be interested in alongside the main cast like Sideswipe or the Arcee sisters (literally the only female Autobots, who were killed off with barely any screen-time).

1 was boring but I still gave credit because it gave us the backstory and why the transformers are on earth. 2 was okay a lil bit more boring, had more of a mature content to it, introduced my favorite autobot Sideswipe. 3 was the best, good plot, corrupted autobot legend, more action and the disappearance of Mikaela fortunately. 4 ruined the saga, plot was stupid, characters are worse, Optimus and bumblebee look ugly. 5 not only ended it, but killed it.

At 5:35, if you listen to the Audio Commentary with Michael Bay for the very first movie from 2007, you will completely understand why Michael Bay is the way he is. In addition, it proved why he should not have been attached to Transformers at all, and would have been far better working on live-action GI JOE films, since Michael Bay has such a great relationship with our Military (because he makes them look good), rather than attempting anything with intergalactic, sentient robots from another planet or anything else Transformers-related.

Some of Bay's movies in the beginning were "campy" but okay like Armageddon, Bad Boys and "The Island". But his recent stuff made within the last 15 years or so really blows. Want a good Transformers Movie? Then it has to be made 100% in space, no humans, full blown space opera. War and Fall of Cybertron games were pretty much that and so was the 1988 movie. Action and adventure in alien planets with robot tarantulas and robot sharks with friggin' laserbeams attatched to their friggin' heads. Go the Full Scifi road. They could have saved this franchise by simply pushing the decepticons out of the solar system and started to go all out on other planets and discover clues to previous battles, heroes and lore of less fortunate teams trying to find ways to save cybertron, regroup with survivors or complete the mission. you know... WORLD BUILDILDING! Developing LORE. They could have gone in this direction from the 3rd film forwatd.
