I had assumed the epithet "Hammerhand" had been earned more honorably. "Helm Cheapshot" seems more fitting.

Helm Fatclapper would be quite a fitting name for him 😁

I always think that the 2700’s is the century of warfare. It starts with the Dunlendings and orcs troubling Rohan and Gondor respectively and doesn’t really let up till the dwarves are lopping off Azogs head. For me the middle of the century is almost a dress rehearsal for the War of the Ring and sees the Free Peoples the closest they’ve come to defeat since mid-1900’s. Within a 15 year time frame you have major invasions of Eriador, Gondor and Rohan. The Hobbit also seems to suggest that in the years leading up to the sack of Erebor the northmen of Dale (plus maybe Bladorthin?) were busy fighting the Easterlings. Seems a funny contrast to the 2600’s when not a single significant battle or conflict is mentioned.

Brego is also known for being the namesake of Aragorns mighty steed. Probably his most impressive achievement

Hi again, back at it.! True to my recurring theme, I'm sure you know why I'm here. Please humor me, cause I know I'm beating a dead horse. But what if Gondor fell during the Kinstrife, causing many pure-bloods to flee north to the remaining bastion of Arnor, strengthening their weakened hold on Cardolan. What effects would this imprint on the world as a whole? Would Rohan become the center of Sauron's conquest? Would Aragorn be born 'into the crown'? Would the legions of Arnor be vast? or weaker than canon Gonder? You know me, Arnor fanboy, back at it again.

Oh man, this is a tough one. I would say Arnor probably wouldn't have fallen, but the rest of Middle-earth wouldn't look so pretty. The Anduin was a massive buffer against the evils of the east and south so losing it would render all of the western lands extremely vulnerable. I wouldn't be surprised if everything east of the Misty Mountains except for Lothlorien ended up falling into the hands of Sauron or his allies. The Northmen would probably be completely destroyed or enslaved so Rohan never would've happened. I think Arnor would've survived because at the time of the Kin-strife, Angmar had just been nearly destroyed by an attack from the Elves. An influx of Gondorians into Arnor likely would've given them the strength to finish them off, and reverse the declining fortunes of their kingdom. Would they be as strong as Gondor? Probably not. Gondor has a better climate and far more fertile land than Arnor so they could always sustain a larger population. And Aragorn would've been born into the crown, provided he ended up still existing with such massive changes to the timeline.
