Just a question. I don't see any enemy unit in front of your Voronezh front. Have you thought about sending some cavalry unit or motorize brigades to do some reconnaissance there?

That bombing run against a security division was not worth it. 300+ planes for a few security soldiers is not a good result. I think your air force would be better employed in the south for now, striking those exposed spearheads that may very well be out of fighter cover. In general that should be the focus for the VVS in 41-42 as you are still short your best planes and your pilots are garbo, you cannot yet go toe to toe with the Luftwaffe. Static fronts (like the north here) will generally have good Bf 109 cover. I think you're starting to get some of the core concepts of the game though, rotating units, pools and so on. I think you will do a lot better in your next game. Remember that in 41-42, Soviet divisions out of entrenchments are essentially fodder, so it's critical to have backup divisions digging behind the line, ideally far enough away to refit and gain morale. I get it's not possible currently due to the tactical situation, but make sure to carry that lesson forward! Keep going on the videos, I am enjoying it and the presentation is great.

I'm going to try and tweak my air force next turn. It is easy for me to get into the emotional idea that what I do with the air is irrelevant, but I am going continue playing with it to see what can be done. I am slowly wrapping my mind around things and will definitely enjoy the next game, but I will not quit this one. I'm anxious for the spring thaw and the terror that will come with that.
