Here's some additional information that was cut from the anime: When the Emperor and his vassals were walking towards Ainz in his throne room, there were all sorts of high-leveled monsters (not just Undead, but also Dragons, Vampires, and Demon Lords) standing at attention on both sides of the room. This is the reason why the Emperor stated that he was grateful that none of his vassal fled out of fear/or did anything to embarrass the Empire. The blonde female knight was originally a member of the nobility, but was disowned due to her contracting a curse that made the left side of her face constantly secrete a foul, pus-like substance. When she had nowhere else to go, the Emperor basically offered her a deal; that if she serves him as one of his Royal Knights, he in turn will find the cure to her curse. Also part of their agreement is that if things become very difficult, she is allowed to prioritize her own life over the Emperor's.

@@gantashiro978 They do know he's a humanoid demon and I'm pretty sure the suit Demiurge wears is unique and quite exotic compared to New World standards, so by association they could have thought Demiurge was Jaldabaoth if he was in he's human form. By being in frog form he led the emperor to believe he was a frogman instead of a demon. Add that to frogmen being a kind of bards race because they use some sort of voice/music magic, and Demiurge using a voice mantra, further linking his origins to the frogmen.

9:47 The backstory behind her eye was explained in her character sheet. --- Born as the daughter of a noble family, she earned great honor by taking up the sword to slay monsters within her family’s domain. However, while subduing a powerful monster she was smitten by its death curse, an ungodly affliction that covered the right side of her face with a putrescence lesion that constantly oozes pus. In spite of every attempted remedy, the curse has so far proved to be unbreakable. Wary of a potential scandal, her family disowned her and her fiancé ended their engagement. Ultimately, Leinas made breaking the curse her raison d’être, becoming so devoted to her goal that her personality warped until she was willing to do anything to achieve her ends. Jircniv has already helped Leinas exact revenge on her former family and ex-fiancé. --- 17:57 you might have noticed but Jircniv wasn’t affected by Demiurge’s command. This is because he had a necklace which has resistance to mental attacks.

the other fan theory is that his character {overlord wiseman with maxed intelligence} is actually intelligent, but can only push its intelligent ideas subconsciously, so his human mind which has taken over the conscious mind doesn't actually know his own plan. So now you have Ainz (dumbass, with intelligent subconscious) with demiurge (interprets ainz's subconscious pushed actions making him view ainz as the pinnacle of intelligence) not realizing that conscious ainz is clueless. In the meantime, ainz has no idea what is going on and is just along for the ride.

So I'm not sure but from what I've read from a commenter who is usually in these overlord reactions with expounding walls of text taken from the novel _(I'm surprised they're not here)_ Has mentioned something like the refreshments that the death knights served Jircniv and his entourage essentially boiled down to like a modern Sunny Delight like drink they've never seen before and also gave a full status effect removal and full body energizing sensation. *AGAIN... a covert power flex.*

Jircniv's japanese VA is Takahiro Sakurai, most commonly known as the voice of Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. In the New World the Death Knights are legendary undead, they really are not that common as Ainz made us believe because a lot of negative energy is needed to spawn one (usually from battlefields). Jicniv is resistant enough to Demiurges mind control that he is flat out able to disobey his commands because he's wearing an anti-mind-control amulet. Ainz dispels the fight between Shalltear and Aura with the grand gesture he was practicing in Season 3, Episode 1. For we light novel readers, that scene was in Volume 8, which takes place between Volumes 4 and 5. Ainz had to wait for so long for the opportunity to come and he seized it. Although he is ruthless and ambitious, Jircniv only does what he does for the good of his Empire. He wants to rebuild the Empire as a great nation that will stand the test of time. All of his atrocities are calculated to serve that purpose and he does not want to bring undue suffering when it is not necessary. For example he seized several noblewomen as gifts to appease a potential enemy. When he learned that this person had no use for these maidens with noble blood, he brought them right back and returned them to their families. In the english light novel translation by Yen Press they butchered Ainz' title, they called it "King of Darkness". Fluder is jealous of the Thirteen Heroes and their accomplishments, especially in magic. Accomplishments he has yet been unable to duplicate, like dominating a Death Knight. This is why he betrays the empire and his emperor without a second thought when Ainz promises to teach him magic and allow him to glimpse what he calls the abyss of magic. The funny thing is that Ainz doesn't know anything about magic (he can cast it but does not grasp the theory of it enough to teach, and the magic of the New World eludes him completely) and considers himself woefully ignorant compared to Fluder.

@@NinjaKumaReacts Death Knights are level 35 In the novel when Ainz had the gathering where their world domination plan was announced it was stated that over 200 of the Tomb's strongest named NPCs were present in the throne room. The average level of the attendees was over 80. To give you an idea for how high the power level was in the room at that event, the Pleiades (that you've met, at least) aren't actually strong enough to qualify for attending. And those are just from the pool of custom NPCs personally created by the guildmembers (which makes them higher ranked in Nazarick's internal hierarchy regardless of personal power). We have no idea how many generic high level NPCs are present in the Great Tomb. Also, the bulk of Nazarick's forces are located on the 8th Floor and none of them attended because access to it is highly restricted (even the Floor Guardians aren't allowed there, save for Victim) so they can't leave. Nazarick is f**king BIG and it's filled to the brim with hilariously powerful monsters.

I wanna share a bit of a sad point about Fluder, according to the LN. (NO SPOILERS! JUST LN STUFF!) Fluder wants nothing more than to "peer into the abyss of magic", thus he found a way to extend his lifespan and became the #1 magician. However, as the #1 guy, he's had to do all the learning and innovating by himself, with no one to guide him. This exerpt explains it best I think: ~~~ Indeed. Fluder would die before he could gaze into the abyss of magic. Perhaps if a skilled predecessor had guided him, he might have been able to reach his current position sooner. However, there had been nobody ahead of him, so all he could do was blaze his own trail. Fluder nonchalantly looked at the disciples around him. He looked around at the people who walked along the trail Fluder had blazed. It was fuel to the fire of his jealousy, which blazed even more fiercely. He… as the most knowledgeable person present, how old had he been when he had been at his disciples’ level? No, there was no need to think about it; he would surely have been older than his disciples were. That was how great the difference was without anybody to guide him, without anybody to show him the way. Why did he not have a Master of his own? Fluder tried to think in a different direction to mask the complaints he often had. ~~~ -It was fine, right? He would go down in history as a forerunner. Every single magic caster would give thanks to Fluder for the results he had left behind, which were derived from the trail he had blazed. These pupils are my treasure; so long as any of them reaches a greater height than myself, it will be a part of my accomplishments too- ~~~ idk i kinda feel bad for the guy, thanks for coming to my ted talk

why does no one comment on how the emperor resists Demiurge's ability? and could any Overlord fans, those who have done some reading I may have missed or forgotten, tell me how he was able to do it? also, can you really blame Demiurge for believing that Ainz is a genius? every seemingly dumb move he's made always seems to lead to something important. one could call it luck but maybe it's possible that, like the NPCs, he also changed to fit whatever he was supposed to be in Yggdrasil. I don't have a good name for it, so I'm going to call it something like instinctual genius or something. Something to explain how a formerly common man could make decisions that always seem to lead to something grand or a series of important events that could be masterfully and flawlessly explained without really knowing why. it's not a full, proper theory on my part but I think it would make some sense that more than just his body and mind changed, considering how much the shift from game world to real world changed everyone else in Nazarick.
