When you get the next influx of Command points - by all means - get the Aircraft Carrier HMS Hermes. But remember to include a good escort screen for her as well. If getting between 20 to 40 additional Command points. I would put together an escort of four destroyers, two Corvettes and a light cruiser. With the carrier. A few MTB's and a couple of submarines.

Watch out for these in the Celebes Sea area. I believe that it would not take too much to have those and the two Battleships of the Kongo Class to go round Malaya and approach that way - to increase the pressure that way and reinforce both airfields and ports in this part of the Celebes Sea area. If it's not that possible to go that way. Then there's a different way to go in the other.

A while back there was a poll of choosing which campaign he should play. If I remember correctly the choices were ABDACOM, full pacific campaign (American) and a updated Japanese campaign. I think the pacific was second.

Wolfpack, id like to see more subs in use, the Australian and US navies relied heavily on their subs to reduce Japanese supplies being delivered to the outlying island bases to reduce fighting effectivness when the allies did invade these islands, if you had 4-5 subs able to be patrolling at any 1 time the Japanese supplies and naval strength through constant sub/torpedo attacks!

It was seeing your play throughs that got me to d/l the mod and try it. I'm suprised you have not bagged any battleships yet. In my current play through I was assaulted twice right away by formations with a Kongo battleship. Sunk on one Feb 7th and one on Feb 14th.

@@sigamer216 On March 12 I had a task force like he spotted up north make a move at Batavia, two fleet carriers and a Kongo with support and with aircraft I damaged one of the carriers and sunk the lone cargo ship they had in the task force and luckly they turned around and left without bombarding the port. No idea why as they had me, they were within less than 16nm of the port.

When torping from the Sub you should engage with the front tubes and wait for it to slow down. The rest of the fleet will move on and you can finish it off

You say - easier! In two respects - yes ! (1): Relieves the situation of O-19 being chased by destroyers and get more Subs and you're going to benefit from that. And ..... (2): As you say. Destroyers carry troops and supply. The more you sink these. You reduce the effectiveness of any raider force against your ports in Java.

iirc, a plane in this game is the same as a 800kg HE bomb. So smashing planes into ships can actually do more damage than dropping actual bombs on it

Another great video. I very much like the way you edit your videos to show the action and explain your strategy...but not consume large amounts of time other than that. It's the best way to do it. I will say that in these "War on the Sea" games the AI has no chance *after* one masters the game mechanics! It can't deal with a human opponent who understands the game and knows how to play it. I have played 3 campaigns from the Japanese side in the original game and I typically end up sinking around 150 Allied ships at the cost of perhaps 1 or 2 Japanese subs, a couple of destroyers, and maybe 1 cruiser!!!!!!!! It's fun...and it's challenging...but the lopsided results only demonstrate how utterly ineffectual the AI is against a human player who has mastered the basic mechanics of the game. For whatever reason, I happen to love Japanese ships and aircraft...so I always play the Japanese side against the Allies...and I get to see an incredible number of Allied vessels go down. By the end I have normally sunk ALL their heavy cruisers, all their carriers, all their battleships, and most of their light cruisers as well, plus many destroyers and merchant ships. In real life, they'd have given up and gone home by about halfway through! In your Java Sea game here, I'm getting to see virtually the entire Japanese Navy get sunk in a campaign that they should be handily winning in very little time at all. Well, at least I get to see a lot of good visuals of those lovely Japanese warships while you're sinking them! 😅 What I think is...the game handles the tactical combat just fine (other than all the silly collisions that keep occurring).........but it's absolutely lousy at strategy!!!!! It just keeps doing the same predictable stuff over and over again...and thereby getting sunk. It can't think independently and do the unexpected, like approaching from an unexpected direction or hitting in an unexpected place...so a human player can easily outthink the AI. And that means that in the Dutch East Indies Campaign the ABDA command can actually win, as you have so clearly demonstrated thus far. They didn't have any chance of doing so in the actual campaign, in my opinion. Does this scenario also allow one to play the Japanese side? If so, I don't think it would take very long to win it!

These Japanese destroyers are way overpowered concerning damage survivability.. Bombs and 15" shells would wreck them instantly and would render them helpless thus sending them to the bottom extremely quickly.. Instead they just sail along requiring multiple hits just to achieve heavy or critical damage..
