Not near as many as I dropped! Hell, those Japanese ships are tough. I still don't understand why there are no command points for sinking destroyers? If they damage or sink your ships, you have to spend command points to replace them. Another submarine would be nice. Beware, swordfish Are Slow torpedo bombers which gave them a huge disadvantage. Not only Rearming hermes airgroup would also be a nightmare since you either need to go to surabaya or Batavia which is in range of enemy aircraft's or Back To darwin. But Hermes Air group Should beef stuff up, It would be prudent to used her Against enemy Merchant vessels, Swordfishes Are not Fighter planes so you still need land base air cover.

Using his m139s (Martin B-10s) to try to skip bomb with is The Charge Of The Flight Brigade. He’s losing too many planes while refusing to learn how to precision bomb from altitude, because he tried it once and gave up. A 2,000 lb. armor-piercing bomb from 10,000 feet can sink a heavy cruiser. And if most bombs miss, at least he retains the planes. It takes painful practice, like manual gunnery or depth-charging.

Yugumo, Asashio and Kagero are all very similar destroyers (6 127mm main guns in twin turrets, 1 fore, 2 aft and two sets of quadruple torpedo tubes) between the three there are 47 of them.

When this series ends I have a challenge, do the same campaign as Japan. Rules. 1. You can't use sunrises except the midget submarines against ships around Australia. 2. You can only use a carrier after you have secured Singapore and half of java.

It nice to see a carrier in play. When you were talking about the task force that will be part of Hermes. I do see a red flag I will admit. Something tells me she's gonna get a lot on unwanted attention. I say to start getting more escorts (mainly destroyers or smaller) into the field. Just as extra guns on the fleet. As a more immediate focus. Outside of that, I think Lanley is isn't a bad ship to get. Especially since she's using PBYs and OSTUs. They're not great but they're not bad Esther. Operating her with hermes and perhaps land based aircraft would work well. Lanley can do things hermes can't. Just something to ponder about. Will we receive any other carriers or is it just them two?

Possibly 1 or 2 CAs escaped with damage and got stuck in drydock, or are deployed with the CV fleet up near Singapore, but either way the AI doesn't seem to have any available for new fleets. I think that's why the Agano class CLs showed up so early

If I may make a suggestion, if you intend to continue manual formation skip bombing, use Line Ahead. You're less likely to miss with all the bombs, even if the lead plane misses.

@@thepinkplushie Aye, but the ships themselves are a lot stronger than yours, plus they do have a material advantage. Plus right up until quite recently, Wolfpack was getting it hard from the IJN with multiple heavy cruiser TFs he couldn't counter.

I'm not saying that Wolf is a bad player, neither am I taking the credit away from him, it's just that his skills, coupled with all the features in game plus the AI taking some pretty stupid decisions in behalf of the japanese has led to some encredibly high enemy kill count. He pretty much sunk all japanese heavy cruisers in the first half of 1942 without losing many of his own

You really need to protect the destroyers with your main ships of the line and not let them go off alone. The ai likes to target lone ships, but will switch fire between ships ever so often if there in formation

I wonder if your AI gunnery improves much with better ships? Most of the youtubers playing this game seem to focus on getting the cheapest ships like the rubbish capsizing clemsons instead of looking at the capabilities. As you push toward Singapore you will require the best AA defense & fast ships that can carry a large number of troops. Clemsons won't cut it. Another player lost the Hermes straight away to bombs.
