"Shakespearean Trawler"? Is that such a ramshackle tub that its motto is like: "To sea, or not to sea, that is the question."

What an outstanding episode, so much drama! That battle illustrates the danger of allowing a carrier to become engaged in surface combat, and at night! You did really well to escape from that with so little loss. I usually pull my carriers back into safer waters at night, then move them out during the day. Carriers are fast enough to quickly change position, as long as their escorts are equally fast.

I wouldn’t bombard the 2 bases at Soerabaja and Tiilatiap because your mission is to get them both to level 5 airbases. You might not have enough resources to build them back up if you knock ‘em down.

lways try to remember in the midst of battle confusion - manual fire your torpedoes to go where you think the enemy SHIPS will be - as the computer is computing where a particular ship will be. Great video as usual.

Soerabaja = Soor-a-bah'-ya (Surabaya), Tjilatjap = Tyil'-a-tyap (Cilacap, also known as Chilachap). Hope this helps.

Japanese Pronunciation: Great except for the Cruiser: Takao. Now we get into a bit of common usage, both Japanese and in English speakers. Technically, it is: Ta-ka-o, ('Ta-ka-oh'). And that means: THREE (3) syllables are to be spoken. HOWEVER, because of our years of speaking English (and even the Japanese sometimes use a diphthong or two), we English speakers want to say either the two syllable English language way: 'Ta-kauw' as you did, or rather the way most of us who know both languages say it: 'Ta-ka-auw'. What is important here, is the: Ta-ka...part, followed by...-- something -- for the third syllable. Now 'o' is a tough vowel to have all by itself at the end of a word, so go with 'Ta-ka-auw' if you wish, I even say it that way at first glance, and most of your audience will be sounding it like that in their minds as well. Just remember that if you find ONE extra vowel, you have to add a syllable, and if several vowels, then be creative (see below), but at least one extra syllable as well. Just for the record, when Japanese women, who like to play with names, put in a whole lot of vowels, they force dipthongs upon unsuspecting Japanese men! A good example is the name of a top rank Sumo wrestler: Daieisho Hayato. Look him up, he's listed in WIKI. Wrestlers only use their first name, so: Daieisho. Well, we know about the: Da.... and the: ...sho. But what about the: iei? Technically, it should be Five Syllables: Da-i-e-i-sho ('Da-ee-eh-ee-sho'). But no one says that, even the English announcers, who are not only fluent in Japanese, but have lived there for decades and covered the sport. The way it is said is Three Syllables: Dai-e(i)-sho, with the accent on the 'e', and a slide over the 'i' into sho. If I capitalize the accent, it is: 'Dai-E(i)-sho'. The Japanese are nothing if not practical!

But he does not know how to use them: If the enemy has destroyers, then run like heck ASAP as soon as your torpedoes leave the tubes if you dont wanna lose your sub.

Well, forces of nature are nothing to laugh at. They have damaged even a US Navy supercarrier (near Antarctica). But you should not tarry around with a submarine once you have fired torpedoes but flee.

That allied ship at around 12.50, doesn,t look British according to that Flag for one, another Yeah its large but not any Cruiser, if you look its got 2 Turrets and 1 Large Gun in each, thats a """MONITOR""", looks like a Ocean going Monitor, smallest gun their armed are 8inch to up to14 inchers, strange design looks like it was once a small passenger liner because of the hull design and it being very high off the water,looks pretty fast also.Those 2 guns look like 10 or 12 inchers according to the barrel weight.

Yet again you took my advice thank you you got 2 heavy cruises ok theat good so what next 🤔🤔 when you get your points back get Hanover carrier with 2 carrier double the zeros to 24 to 48 zero fighters and a lot more torpedo planes and a lot more dive bombers with 48 zero you will have really good air cover you can protect oll the cargo ships with oll them and theat American task group you could launch big air strike and destroy the American task group what do you think

No, Taff got it right, more or less. A good rule of thumb is Japanese syllables rarely end on a consonant. The pronunciation of the English word would probably be transliterated as “toun” but I’m not sure how you’d write that in Japanese writing systems.
@devrossik

Another good rule of thumb is to pronounce each vowel in the romanized spelling separately, so "ii" is "ee-ee", not "eeee". "Tone" comes out something close to "Toe-nay".
