This book is worth reading for Pierre's sake. I read this book for school and if it wasn't for Pierre, I wouldn't be interested. Dostoevsky is the closest of our writers to me. Well, Turgenev and Goncharov, too.

I suffer a lot with Pierre during the whole show with the awful girl he get engaged and he didn't deserve that... He was the best and finally end up with his unique true love was the perfect moment of the show by far and completely unexpected

I’m glad Natasha ended up with Pierre in the end we all could see how much they loved each other it only took themselves to finally realising that I’m glad they did I loved when Pierre asked Natasha this in 1x06: DO YOU THINK YOU COULD LOVE ME and she answered this: YES I CAN, YES I DO!!! This was absolutely my favourite moment between them

Oh my goodness! Me too! My thoughts exactly. I wanted to include Natasha's answer as well but alas the original score of the show was too overwhelming on those lines and I had to sacrifice them, choosing to move forward to the kiss instead. :)

Darling, life has its own ways to act. Trust me when I tell you that love finds you when you least expect it. I once wanted to be loved so desesperatly, and it wasn't until I was happy and proud of myself that he came along. She will come, just let her follow the string ;)

war and peace was my first book , i didnt know it was a classic , after reading it , i thought there might be other books as good as this but i couldnt find any , i would have given a million dollars to the maker of this video if i was rich enough .

I have recently finished Leo Tolstoy's book War and Peace, the book was so wonderful it touched my heart. And I have just finished watching this adaptation. So good! Fabulous characters and fabulous actors! I think Pierre was my favourite character and Natasha too, and I liked Andrei 🤍

Джеймс хорош. Очень неплох. И не старается быть таким красавчиком. Очень убедителен актер. А вот Лили ничего не поняла в Наташе, совсем ничего. Пьер очень неплох. А в целом это все-таки вариации по роману. Толстого там мало. Но фильм оригинален. И молодёжи понравится. А княжна Марья даже лучше, чем в версии Бондарчука. Но голос Бондарчука в фильме 1965г Никто его не может заменить. Он неповторим.

По мне, именно здесь Пьер такой, каким я его себе представлял, впервые прочитав роман в 1966. Пол Дано для меня - 100% попадание. Очень понравилась княжна Марья. У Бондарчука почему-то второй любовный треугольник вообще оказался на третьих ролях. В этом смысле знаменитая версия Сергея Федоровича далека от первоисточника. Хороши все старики. Как ни странно, понравился князь Василий. Здесь он не такой ходульный злодей. Режиссер вложил в него кусочек человечинки даже больше, чем Толстой. Конечно наш Анатоль/Лановой - точнейшее попадание в образ. Здешний Анатоль - скорее диккенсовский Урия Хип. Может женщина объяснит, как женщины могли западать на такого Урию Хипа. Сериал во многом получился, а ведь мне прилично за 70.

@@v24231 Согласна во многом. Но голоса Бондарчука и Тихонова не заменит НИКТО. Они неподражаемы. Они помнятся. Я пересмотрела фильм дважды с перерывами в месяц.

А мне, кажется, что Лили во многих фрагментах фильма играет очень достоверно.Спасибо ей большое, что она в значительной степени поняла русскую душу Наташи.Англичанке это очень сложно, совсем разные культуры.

Пьер здесь идеален при всём уважении к Бондарчуку. Строго говоря, в этом сериале по-настоящему плохи лишь слишком откровенные интимные сцены и отсутствие важных прозрений главного героя, что как раз крайне значимо с точки зрения романа. Бондарчук их не про игнорировал. Здесь более приземлённый подход, но всё равно сериал хорош.

Это, конечно не Толстой и не Россия- такое ощущение, что действие происходит в некой сказочной стране. Герои - упрощенные версии толстовских. И все же, красиво! Смотреть эту версию гораздо интереснее, чем «классику» Бондарчука, от которой, скорее, в депрессию впадешь.
