If Revan has Bastila Shan in his army then her battle mediation would upset Banes plans a lot

If Bane had essence transfer he could simply hide and wait for Revan to die and then go into action, ensuring the Jedi stay close to a Republic that is rotting from within. I even wonder if going into hibernation for a while to lessen the strength of the dark side so Revan would languish and die in peace, might be viable. Withdrawing from the galaxy completely for a time and allowing society to prosper and forget the Sith before rising again - it's a bit like what the early Rule of 2 was like anyway, only this time the sith would hide even more completely. Also he might try to set up false wars to serve as distractions to focus the republic and Jedi away from his sith, like he explained in the books, with the separatist group on Scereno. I can see Bane doing anything he can to kill Revan, as without Revan's mind the Jedi and Republic can be influenced far more easily by him. He just needs a way to take Revan of of the picture and the idea of leaving the galaxy alone and in peace for a while is a more cunning way of getting rid of him. It's like that saying that strong men create good times and good times create weak men and in turn, weak men create hard times. In the actual story Revan overcame the dark side and died fully in the end, only for the darkness to rise again much later. Something that always struck me about Bane is that he seemed to serve the dark side itself and he valued it's strength above everything. He would sacrifice anything, ultimately giving his life when fighting his apprentice, to furthering the strength of the dark side. It was his legacy.
