I am a little confused on convoys, specifically the ones that have multiple bubbles connected to each other i.e. convoys between Indochina and Borneo. do you have to target one specific bubble or is that all one bubble and what if different opponents control the corresponding different ports?

it is all 1 bubble... you can target any enemy linked resource within that bubble with 1 roll.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the air vs sub(s) escorted transports scenario still requires a hot spot. The planes have the ability to hit subs in this game, so a battle would ensue. The question then arrises, if any subs survive, are the transports saved?

Yes, if I understand correctly a hotspot is placed any time dice will be rolled, but only one hotspot per region. The transports would be saved if the defending side still has units left (air or naval). Air Units don't return until Phase 5 and TT are only eliminated during Battle Debrief in Phase 4.

Why can not strategic bombing damage be repaired. Convoy raiding is one (1) die per ship or plane but startegic bombing is four (4) dice per plane. It seems rather probelmatic with the inability to ever repair. Did I missudnerstand this? Another question, subs can not protect armies at sea. Can they protect convoys from air attacks? Normally an enemy air force (or fleet) can not raid if I have a fleet there.

I believe the reason of no repair is to balance/ simplify the already rules-heavy game+ war game focus on attrition versus Axis & Allies. For qn 2, I believe subs cannot protect convoys from air attack, same logic as subs cannot fire torpedoes into the skies to hit them.

I disagree. While it’s true, subs have no air attack, fighters and bombers can attack subs (no destroyers in War Room, so this rule was simplified) so instead of a convoy, a battle would occur. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

In War Room subs do 'protect' TT and convoys... that is you can't convoy raid while there is an enemy unit present... so it is more of a distraction than protection. Same goes for protecting Troop Transports. The decision to disallow repair is based game balance and on reflecting the 'zoomed out' global scale of the game and timeline. If you can simply repair then bombing is often not worth the effort. However, everyone is free to play with house rules...for example, I'd say the cost should be 9 or 10 iron to remove a single bomb token.

Do bombers placed in strategic bombing participate in the ground battle (stage 3), i.e are the 4 dices counted in and are they able to hit ground forces after having performed a strategic bombardement in stage 2?
@SuperDUD66 Жыл бұрын
Heyho, even though the question is quite old, maybe this will help someone nonetheless: You cannot do both with bombers. The stances of the bombers are meant to give you the option of either using your four dice rolls against ground targets or to use the bombers as strategic ones targeting infrastructure, etc.
