The First Update of War Thunder in 2025 it's gotta be the arrival of the F/A-18 Hornet. Don't care is anyone is gonna throw trash at it but it's gotta be in game. it's been too many updates passed since it's not been added.

I think they should add the Norwegian air sub tree to sweden. Even if they double the current Finnish air sub tree, it will still be quite small compared to other nations. Norway offers a lot of needed variation in the Swedish air tech tree, as well as filling gaps.

I've been advocating for Sweden to get the norway and Denmark subtrees for a while. Make it a full Scandinavian tree. Problem is we might have to wait a little cause the amount of leopard 2A7s they would get from this would probably make them the strongest top tier nation in game hands down. Then again the leopards aren't as strong as they were a couple patches ago with the depression nerf and this new CAS meta.

recalling my previous comment: "Sweden is pretty ok with air tt but at rank 5-6 is kinda empty, yes the planes there do the job but by today Gaijin standards it needs some fillers, I'm expecting a new subnation makin its way there, maybe they expand finland but they're already filling some places at lower tiers so maaaybe they're adding norway to replace finland at that rank, so it'd continue till top tier with the "supposed" norweigan F18" Yeah, Finland is a very small classic sub tree but it stops being important once props end, it empties once you reach jets and takes a couple ranks to get decent, Norway would enter to complement the jet era and end up with a Hornet, i know everyone will get one too. Aaaaaaand there's so little DESIGNATED IN GAME strike aircraft for a nation that ended up turning almost all it's aircraft into that role, the first one is the SK60B... I don't mind they adding the swedish mosquito or something, even prototypes, Sweden DOESN'T have anything between 4.3-6.7, and the 4.7 is a finnish bf so yeah, they could've added more aircraft there a long time ago. (dreaming for them to add the A21B (definitive Saab 21, with overheating issues solved, bubble canopy), J23 (Swedish zero) or the J27 (the "swedish super spitfire"), but they're gonna go the easy way for sure...

I wish they would add some kind of mechanic that you can apply real camo nets like on the new tiger premium wich could also be movable if you enable it in the options. Would be a nice addition. I also would like more customization for the tanks like, removing the side skirts, adding logs. Maybe it would also be cool to keep or place some ricochets. Would be cool imo.

Regarding SPAAs that comprise multiple vehicles, there's a couple of options where they can incorporate the functionality into a single vehicle. SLAMRAAM for example relies on an external radar unit, but the launcher vehicle itself is pretty straightforward. Similarly, the Swedish military has a tracked vehicle that tows a small launcher with IRIS-T on it. That could be an option. Larger batteries like Patriot... yeah not convinced they'd work well in-game unless they increased map size and used them as a stationary opt-in spawn. (i.e. the batteries don't move - you can pick one and spawn as part of it). At that point, electronic warfare becomes viable for general SEAD to allow for CAS to operate. Then you see air dominance become much more important. It'd also open up the possibility of using SPHs as actual artillery instead of direct-fire vehicles. You could add spotter drones for example and relay GPS coordinates for SPHs to fire on. Hell, at maps of that size, having naval vessels in the same mixed battles becomes viable. I guess what I'm saying is that to get battery style SPAAs you need much bigger maps, in which case you probably want to create a whole new gamemode, which the game could do with. Either simulator or realistic but with large maps, new spawn mechanics, new objective mechanics and a combination of naval, air and ground assets.

My personal prediction is for Swedish top tier, that being the introduction of the JAS39E (Gripen E). I see this being a very possible next addition for Sweden because of the introduction of AESA radar and the new disadvantage of having nothing to compete with typhoons and rafales

A good comparison would be the Strike Eagle version of the F-15 compared to its own predecessors

The only thing maybe holding back gripen e is the wepon system its the newest stuff of the new aim 120 c-7 and meteor and irst for ir is the common loadout they carry and nothing close to those wepons is in the game yet

Leaks play an important role too. Knowing roughly what to expect but having 0 details is key. That's also why I play this ridiculously grindy game - I get excited about an end goal (i.e. Rafale right now), then I massively enjoy my limited time with every vehicle up to it, knowing our time together is very brief. This makes me return to a lot of vehicles later, whilst not feeling stuck to them. There are a lot of people like me, and it's not an inherently bad thing. There's also a lot of nuance.

This would mean you could put your radar off to the side so if they add in SEAD the SEAD will then hit the radar but not the command or lunch systems if they are far enough away. That is the whole purpose of network SPAA systems, one radar can get diddled but another is still feeding info

It does, but not immediately. It's like the flaps or G Overload warning. Or, for ground, when your radiator gets damaged. Nothing breaks right away, but if you push it harder, you may find out when it does break. It's the game's way of saying "Hey, you're good right now, but this is your last warning. If you keep pushing, your engine will be damaged" How far/long can you REALLY go before any damage? That relies on your experience with the vehicle, and toeing the line to find out :) it's different for each one, each environment, and each elevation. It's just a small part of the skill ceiling

I think before we get anywhere near gen 5 top tier we need to rework the game to make it playable with weapons like aim 120 c-d or even input he differences between a-b. Not to mention aim 9x and other foreign counter parts. Role based games would be nice to see rather than team death match all the time. I can only play sim so long… ADD HEADLIGHTS TO NIGHT BATTLES

One thing i think they should do is reduce the amount of clouds in a match. I dont mind clouds, but sometimes it's too much especially when you have clouds below 100 meters making it very hard to multipath. Its also very hard to multipath when there are dusk matches with thunderclouds, you can barely see a thing and you may have to turn on night vision (if you even have it) to multipath without crashing.

IMO one of the first major things we're going to get next year is the Mitsubishi F-2. This patch honestly wouldve been the perfect time to do it along with the other 4.5 gens. Sure, irl its better then early rafales or eurofighters, but... in warthunder its going to lack a lot of the specialized EW characteristics that make it so great irl. Its slower then the other 4.5 gens, it has no HMD, fewer countermeasures, and only 4 fox-3s. So, unless gaijin is waiting to give it more modern missiles, or to fix its currently existing ones, its gonna be almost DOA if it arrives much later. Sure, its radar is going to be insanely good, probably being among the best ever added into game since its the J/APG-2 (the -1 doesnt work with datalink). But... they should've just added the radar gimped like they did the other aesas.

I am kinda hoping that we get a BR expansion along with the Rank expansion. With 8 being cut back to 12.0-13.3, and 13.7/14.0 being 9. I think a lot of the BVR/Missile-truck jets should be at Rank 9. Top tier really is a big cluster right now.

My predictions? First, probably more packs due to how well the Tiger Ost pack is being received. Second, Air RB is just going to keep getting compressed to hell with AESA, ARH, MAWSs, etc. and I would not be surprised in the slightest if they start adding more ECMs; but this will lead to them having to increase the BRs AGAIN, completely rework how battle ratings/matchmaker works for Air RB etc. IMO the best solution is to split jets and props into two trees/modes semi-el a. Blue Water vs. Coastal Trees. Props can get more BR range to add more intermediate aircraft, and give more proper spacing between war-time props and post-war superprops/turboprops. It would give them Gaijin a reason to refocus on WWII stuff without suffocating the grind more. Plus, then they can sell new shiny top-tier premiums for the jet tree. Probably sell things like a YF-17 to complement the F/A-18C, maybe Russia will get an Iraqi MiG-25PD premium and a MiG-31 TT vehicle, etc.

I think the f18 will be held back until more hype surrounds the top gun 3 film. I also think that india will give british air the rafale, and if not it will be made its own standalone nation. I think theres gonna be a bit of filler with high speed interceptors in the 9.7-11.0 br range with the f102, f106 and mig 25/mig 31 Im certain subs are coming to the game but i also think they might be included in coastal rather than deep water. I think theres gonna be a lot more decompression for both air and ground. Some naval reworks and an air rework for a bomber mode to allow for the addition of big name cold war jet bombers: b52, tu 95, b1, b2, tu -95, tu-160 (probably not 2025 for both naval and ground reword) I also imagine naval research costs will be dropped through the floor to make it more attractive to players.

1) I want new game modes---Rush, Defense, Capture the Flag, 1v1 duel for air battles. More objectives with a meaningful impact, I want a map where the objective is to win either by killing all the enemy player OR destroy their aircraft carriers, or bases, or bunkers to enable ally AI to move forward to capture an airfield or FOB. I hate the fact that AI cannot bleed tickets anymore I want them to revert it, who TF said remove AI causing ticket bleed?! 2) New maps, carriers for naval maps in air battles---to land on/takeoff from, give land based an artificial island to land on cuz its not that complicated. 3) Su-37/47! 4) Restructuring the tech trees to make them more streamline and logical---placement of vehicles or do what armored warfare does a global tech tree system, proper vehicle designations---Hellcats is not a LT, it was a TD, JF-17 is a fighter not a Strike Fighter, MiG-27 are Strike Fighters not Fighters. 5) More customizations of vehicles such as, fuel slide is now 0% to 100% our choice what to take, redesign the weapon selection menu something akin to DCS or Janes series of simulators or Strike FIghters simulations. 6) Do add-on new modern stuff but also bring more old era stuff. 7) Do less events, 4 events a year and 4 BP's, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter events, I need breaks man, too many events and grinds. 8) Make drones great again as drones right now are worthless. Put them closer to the BF. 9) RP reductions for modules!!! stock grinding is the bane of this game!!! 10) Finally the most important thing... sincerity and openness, communicate with the audience, don't be silent, don't make false promises, don't try to be greedy, and fix bugs ASAP! so many things get labelled as "not a bug! when it is! or when something is missing from the vehicle irl standard but gets ignored!

I think we will get next gen IR missile, better fox 3, and 4.5 for every nation, probably mid year we will get the su30sm and f18C and by the end of the year the SU 35 with TRV and the super hornet, gripen E and better rafales and EFs

The UK desperately needs another Subtree. The question is what? Canada is now out of the question as poor choices and community desires have left canadian vehicles spread out across 3 trees. Australia is still a possibility...but theyd need to rework the m1a1 aim in the US tree to be a US version and then add the australian one to the UK. India is the most obvious choice with unique vehicles that arent in the game yet. But also the most controversial. They also could address the 5 lines situation by making the tech tree a click and drag navigation as well as a scroll. Similiar to World of Warships.

Hopefully - especially with Submarines coming, they redo the Naval tech trees so that it's DD, Cruiser, and battleship lines - with maybe some areas especially as we get more modern that overlap or additional lines if they want to differentiate certain things like light and heavy cruisers or fast battleships/battlecruisers and 'standard' battleships. Cause as someone that actually plays naval arcade - the line of DD, into CL/A, into BB/BC - does not work. For starters - the ranks that let us use some things for missions but not others is a joke - Knox is a Gearing with 1 less quad 40 mm but it can be used for things cause it's rank 3 and Gearing is not. Let's then throw in that withing 1.4 BR, and all of ranks 1 and 2, you have DD's built during/right after WW1 in 1930's configurations - with basically no AA, vs late WW2/post war DD's with more firepower, way more AA, etc. And it doesn't get any better - 6.7 and 7.0 you have Arizona at the top of the line, in the configuration it had or close to it when it was at Pearl Harbor, while all the others around it - including 1 that was basically rebuilt immediately after the attack, are all in their 1943 or later configurations bristling with modern secondary DP batteries and tons of autocannons. Which - maybe better suited to 7.0 or higher but not the best because your talking jets - but way better than 8x .50 cals and just as many dated 5 inch AA guns. And that's just inter-tree not even talking about interacting with the messes in other tech trees. To say nothing of lets assume, for a moment - that naval will at some point like planes and tanks move in to the 80's and more modern ships - which will need to also interact with higher BR planes and their weapons systems. And lets assume that Coastal will not see much expansion, other than perhaps being where Submarines take over above the current BR range or maybe some DDE's (that could just as well be in the blue water lines or their own thing). Diving up that way also makes it easier when bring in more modern cruisers, DD's, and frigates - which when you remove carriers basically translate to BB's, CA/L, and DD's of yesteryear in the modern age in terms of the general role they fill. DD's have speed, mobility, smoke screens, and torpedoes to try and deal with Battleships. Earlier cruisers or even late in the case of some nations also have torpedoes for a heavy punch vs BB's or just spam rounds at it and try and knock guns out so they don't shoot back if you don't have torps cause you'll damage it even if you can't detonate the main magazine. Cause guess what - that was also reality, that people like to drag in to 'this game is supposed to be more realistic'.

If there were to be a new french subtree i feel like it would be spain, I obviously dont expect much to come from it other than a few vehicles to fill holes in the benelux subtree. That would mean that they'd get things like the eurofighter, t26 and pz III or II's (t26's and pz II's were supplied during the spanish civil war in 1936) but, I wouldn't expect it to be added in thr next major update but I feel like it would by mid 2026 or late 2025. Edit: do correct me if i have made any name (and / or) error with vehicle's and if they're spanish or not.
