War Thunder Air Combat Maneuvers: The Snaproll

ALLRIGHT Snaproll!!! ...looks a bit like my noob defensive maneuver which I call "Go Berserk" in which I use key roll, mouse roll, elevator, rudder, flaps, airbrakes, (colorful smoke which is activated by accidentally pressing the L key) and I usually end the maneuver by using the parachute to escape my burning plane!

One thing I can say for certain if you use the wrong rudder direction your plane hangs really nicely in front of the enemy. They will thank you for it by sending you home early to your hangar for a shower. Great vid Jengar. Thanks!

Jengar Ah absolutely understandable, good sir! I am trying to figure out how to practice against AI so I can practice my aiming... I can't figure it out though, lol :D. I think I wrote about that in another comment though, so someone might have answered it haha... If not, what would you suggest I try to set the AI as? I mean... What type of aircraft? Assuming I'm flying mostly around br 2.7 or so?

test flight, then mission editor in the lower left corner is what i often use.

Jengar Oh... So you hit the "test flight" button after clicking the plane and then after in the test flight after taking off or something there is a way to add AI targets? That is awesome! I actually recorded one of my latest battles to show you if you are interested in giving any advice LOL ;-)... I mean, I know you must be _extremely_ busy but if you have the time I would really appreciate it if you could maybe give me some advice? I seem to only be able to hit my targets when I fire directly at the indicator circle most of the time if I'm flying with my British lineup... Same with Soviet lineup... Maybe I'm just not leading *enough*?

One of the most useful maneuvers in game. Specially as most arcade players try to force head-ons on you constantly.

Damn, this move has saved me countless times, against Spitfires, Typhoons, XP-55's, A6M's, Mustangs, Corsairs, you name it, literally nothing has ever been able to get more than one bullet (if any bullets at all) on me whenever I do this, P-47 or P-63 going for a head-on? Try again next time boi, literally any plane on my tail? Sorry, another time maybe Basically, a must have in any pilot's arsenal, especially someone in a P-47 or 190 or any other plane with a similarly high roll rate

I perform this maneuver a bit different because of my control setup I don’t have a specific key set up to initiate yaw so it’s weird I typically start rocking my plane in a roll back and forth, then when my plane is least stable, I apply full roll and elevator. Usually does the trick

I'm pretty sure a true snap-roll is actually impossible in AB because stalls and spins aren't supposed to exist, and a true snap roll is literally a horizontal spin.

I see so that's the maneuver that I'm always using when I'm running away from my enemies and in the end ending up crashing to the ground because i dont stop snaprolling. I thought that isn't a maneuver since my enemies don do that when they are running away.

Looks more like a spin. A snap roll is effectively a spin but only half of a full rotation. What is demonstrated in this video is a spin which isn't recovered until several full rotations. The purpose of snap rolls in real aircraft are to make a 180 degree turn about it's longitudinal axis (i.e. heading change). Source, 1000+ hours flight experience and instructors rating.

I'm starting to get back into AB to spade some of my aircraft, I like this maneuver but I often put the plane into a spin or slow too much that I am an easy target. In RB, this is one of the easier maneuvers.

You'll need to rebind your setup, so just search up war thunder ps4 aie rb controls and change accordingly

That looks more like a regular barrel roll because it lacks the high speed stall of a snap roll.

randomest of strangers If you set up your settings right then maybe, but it would probably be really hard to pull off. I play on console and using all of the controls required would be a large chore. Ofc you can change your settings to make it easier but the joysticks are pretty much your only way of doing this manuever.

Hi! A snaproll should be used in reversals, but it can be used for keyboardshots etc. but a snaproll is when you pull your rudder+ areilon + elevator. You only have to nudge your rudder a little bit when you start the stunt, but not overuse it. What you did with the seafire, wasn't a snaproll, that was just a roll with elevator. Also, the fking intro doesn't have to be 2 mins long.
