Any "historical" game mode will have the same inherent problem. Its HISTORICAL. It would be nearly impossible to balance a historical match and still retain any measure of authenticity. There is a reason battles throughout history have ended one way or the other, because one side had the technological advantage, strategic advantage, tactical advantage or just plain dumb luck. It would be hard enough to overcome historical disadvantages alone, but then you add mind numbingly stupid windowlickers to the equation and you will beg for an arcade match. Its just Gaijin's attempt to capitalize on War Gaming's own failed attempt at historical battles and they aren't doing any better at it and it would seem, doing a worse job of it. I don't play WT, only WoT, so I do speak out of ignorance, save what I learn from watching Jingle's videos on it. On a side note, a game mode I would like to see on WoT and WT is "Deathmatch". No cap circles, just two sides going at it until all enemy tanks are dead. There would still be a timer, but it would not dictate the end of the game. Instead, the expiration of the 15 minute clock would activate a sort of "Sudden Death" or "Showdown" mode. Any remaining tanks at this point become revealed to the enemy team's radar. This would encourage fighting to finish a game and prevent some coward or afker from idling his way to a draw. This game mode would also satisfy those who actually want to play tank combat games and not have to play on team full of cap circle commandos, who always seem to cut short your great games by capping out 4 minutes in, giving you 400 xp for your daily double.

Jingles I understand your frustration with regards to the events mode in War Thunder. But at the end of the day they are based on battles which happened historically and certain battles were definitely one sided in one way or another. The problem War Thunder has is that there is no system in place which reduces numbers. So in that battle you were addressing, they limit the bombers to 3 per match and it is solved. I still agree with the event system in its current state since it gives players higher rewards then random battles and gives you that historic feel the game strives for

BohemianEagle I can agree with you on that. There would be ways to balance it though like limit numbers of certain planes so people don't just pick the best plane each country offers. Also in World War 2 I'm sure every battle was not balanced by performance of the vehicles alone. Hopefully they incorporate more events in the game which mimic battles which were not just one-sided in future.

I have no idea why people think that the T-28 in WoT is crap. It has the T-34's top gun at tier 4. Yes, it has shit armour, but its fast and meds shldnt take shots anyway. I aced it and got an Oskin's Medal with that awesome thing... Honestly I think that that the T-28 is underated in WoT.

The T-28 is crap because at that tier with that armor, most tanks will be able to 2-shot or 3-shot it, and the gun really isnt that great. Just my opinion, *dont hate*

I quite honestly somewhat enjoyed the T-28, once I got the 57mm. True it's barely got armor, and it's rather long, but it's also rather fast and manuverable.

It's a one shot kill with every hit, but long reload and it faces tanks that can pretty easily penetrate it and kill it. And since it's so slow and huge you really need to play carefully with it. But it is satisfying.

From what I can tell, score in ground forces is largely determined by how much damage you absorb without dying. I once had a game on Jungle where I was pinned down, repairing for about 3 minutes. Only got a couple kills, but finished top of the team.

The only way to kill a Fun Vampire is to shrink a KV2 and drive it into the killjoy gland. Penetrating it will cause a funplosion dissolving the Fun Vampire from the inside out. Or you could always just release Boo on them.

You know, I didn't actually hate my T-28. Sure it had no armor, but if you were sneaky, it's gun was great, and it could relocate quickly. It's like the combination of a Hellcat, a Bert, and a TOG, getting the most entertaining features out of each. The Hellcat's speed and manuverability, Bert's excellent rate of fire, and the TOG's massiveness. You just can't use it as a brawler.

@TheMightyJingles I would use any of the following: • ZiS-30 anti-tank weapon • IS-3 Heavy Tank • T-50 using its advanced APCR •SU-122 using H.E. or H.E.A.T. for the roving artillery bunkers • KV-2 using stock anti-concrete shells .....or the biggest troll tank in the game...... • ISU-152 using purely the H.E. shells that come stock

when you wanna kill stuff, go T28with shrapnel. its like playing a rapid-fire KV-2. you can OHKO anything but the T-50, and you can bring some AP for them. also, its got a slightly (absolutely) broken damage model, so nothing but the T50 hurts it properly. the T-50 usually blows the ammo. edit: oh... he does use it.

i believe one of the reason War Thunder is more fast paced than World of Tanks is because of the lack of a health bar in War Thunder. unless a player's tank has suffered significant module damage and is practically combat ineffective, the tank will keep going and not worry how many hits it can take as long as it can keep going until it bites the dust. in World of Tanks, players have to be conscious of their health

How to kill a fun vampire: 1) practical jokes can work so long as the aforementioned fun vampire is not the target, this is due to the fact that many of them are also sadists. 2) stand up comedy. Force a fun vampire to sit through a Billy Connelly show, the laughter will soon put an end to them. 3) toilet humour works on the younger fun vampires just as well as it does on any normal children - a good fart joke/noise goes a long way towards putting a swift end to the little bastards! These are just a few suggestions, but you may find them useful when you come face to face with the dreaded fun vampires! :P

The most effective thing to kill a fun vampire with is sarcasm, satire and any sort of humor. Fun vampires can not fathom why you are laughing while they are doing their evil deeds. However this only stuns them. To move in for the final kill, you have to over load their brains with a multitude of scenarios where you are having fun that thr y by nature must refute. If you tell them enough scenarios ib a short space of time their heads will explode. But if you don't have time for this, as a general rule, all creatures die from decapitation. This method can be done with a variety of tools, the more flashy it is the better. I personally prefer a Longsword replica of "Longclaw".

My biggest problem with the match making is that as soon as you get 1 plane or tank from a higher tier, it puts you in those matches. As an example, i just got the KV-2 today, and my first game, all the german players had tigers. Another example: I was starting my Japan tech tree and I got the H6K first. The very next game I played, P-47, Kingcobras, and the like, because the H6K has a battle rating of 3.0. come on, fix the frikin matchmaking already.I also hate the collision physics in ground forces. I really hope they fix it before that new map comes out.

Does no panzer 2 players get the HVAP with 50 mm penetration ? The round of neccesity on Panzer 2s ? I spent 2 minutes surviving panzer 2c fire in my P38(T) F at point blank, completely flanked. I then, after several non-crits, sent them to scrapyard. Heck I was stuck in a rank 2.3 match with 1.3s and ended up doing pretty well in Panzer 2 Cs knocking out Panzer 4s with easy.

A how to on "Fun Vampires" You rub salt in their eyes! This has the effect of giving them an annoying sting in their eyes (akin to their annoying comments). this also has the affect of temporarily blinding them (so they cannot watch and then comment). Also once they are blinded, you can also throw them into the salt mine to gather more salt for other "Fun Vampires". You can never have to much salt.

Khalin Gol was a turkey shoot for the Red Airforce and Red Army, if you read the history books. It is always safe to fly the SB-2 and SB-2M if (A) Not flying over Finland and (B) the enemy is not flying Finnish Buffaloes..... The T-28 went through 4 production versions: A, B, C and D. The T-28 A had 20mm. of armour front, sides and rear. It also had the 76.2mm. L.16.5. infantry gun. This was the fastest T-28 version at 23 MPH. Some T-28 A were later rearmed with the 76.2mm. L.26. L-10 gun. The T-28 B had the L-10 gun and 40mm. applicae armour fitted to the main turret front, drivers cab front and bow. Top speed reduced to 14.4 MPH. T-28 C had 80mm. of applicae armour fitted to the main turret front, drivers cab and bow. Top speed 14.4 MPH. T-28 D had the sub turrets removed (known Achille's Heel) and had a angled upper hull front. Armour was 80mm. and top speed was 14.4 MPH. Turret was from the T-35-2 and armed with the 57mm. L.73. gun. Only 10 were made and the last T-28 to fire a shot in anger on the 22nd October 1944 was a T-28 D. It was converted into a bridge laying tank and Trumpeter produce a 1:35 scale model of this vehicle. WoT has the T-28 A with the T-28 D / T-35-2 turret which never actually existed in this configuration.

Personally one issue i have at WT is that a by beloved Japanese planes seem to be made of Mylar and balsa, heck a well placed round to the wing tip can ether give u the black wing wobbles or kill you out right..

I get that Khalkyn Gol wasn't fought with Russia or Japans top of the line fighters. But I think at least Japan had Ki-43's and A5M's, and Russia may have had early model I-16 and I-153's.

Question about the WT matchmaker - How do you get top tier? Every time I play my British aircraft I go against Kingcobras and Yak-9Ts. All I got is a Spitfire MkIa, a Hurricane MkII, a Wellington MkIc and a Beaufighter VIc. Is partly skill based or have I been THAT unlucky with the matchmaker.

Just a word of advice, If they show their side to you don't shoot the turret, shoot center mass, The ammo racks of all germans and most Russians are about 2 feet below the turret
