That a early mig-29 is considered even close in performance in bvr to a F-14 is laughable. If the Phoenix acted like it does in DCS people would respect the F-14 way more.

It is accurate,the problem is ppl in DCS know what they doing and the WT playerbase still not even try to use the minimum requirements to BVR and wanna complain about things,first learn how shit works,then try again

the phoenix has gotta be used as a counter to fox-1s. like if they hit, thts great, but you can force the enemy to defend, while you yourself are defending, and then its all learning the dogfight tricks of the F-14. i main it, and very rarely do i get outmaneuvered if i do everything right.

@@PuineaGip the f-14B is all about energy management and knowing how much flaps to use. i have similar success and all i do is put the wings all the way forward in a dogfight and if i need to turn i use as much flaps as my current speed allows (which is insane because you can use combat flaps at crazy speeds. i explain it to people as feeling if you are gripping the air or drifting through the air, if you don't have any grip put more flaps out and you will start TURNING and the increased engine power makes it so that you can maintain insane nose authority. as for the phoenix's, i use them the same as well, it comes down to if a mig 29 tries to guide a er missile in from 15-20km then i can launch a phoenix, immediately defend his missile and if he hangs around he dies, if not he is now gone cold to my missile giving me his six and with my missile loadout i can keep him defensive and dwindle him down

@@PuineaGip well the enemy has to stay nose hot to guide their missile, while you can turn cold or notch and still have a missile out. so their only choice is to eat the phoenix, or turn away from it, giving you the opportunity to recommit, and continue attacking, untill either you splash the enemy or merge, then its all about learning to dogfight in the F-14

Don’t worry about the landing gears, they can break ok a good landing at almost stall speed despite having beefy suspensions IRL

Glad you’re finally playing sim again. Sim has been experiencing a lot of very buggy missile behaviors since the update dropped, many of which still exist, and without more exposure they may never be addressed. For example, IR missiles like the 9L, 9G, and 9J have significant delays before starting to track targets after coming off the rail. This change would seem to be unintentional since it was never mentioned in patch notes. I suggest looking at the aim 9G in particular during a sim match for a good example of a missile that’s almost unusable in situations it would have previously worked well in.

this happened to me with all the missiles in game...they do as if they were radar missiles and do not track immediately, instead they need some time before actually tracking

Hey mat. You made a few videos on the pantsir and how broken it is. Ground vehicles aren’t really your domain but you should make a video on similar vehicles that other nations could get. To match pantsir. Or weapons aircraft’s can get to deal with pantsir

Ppl be like:" Phoenix is horrible for BVR" while firing it about 100m from sea level and at subsonic speeds and not even in BVR they most use it at like 15 to 20km thats not BVR...try using it at about 6km alt and at least mach 1.1,takes a lot of energy for the missiles to break the sound barrier,being hight and fast will help it achieve its maximum capabilities...even the R27ER are trash if used below 4km,the ppl that dont dodge R27 below this alt are just dumb asf
