We may have gotten killed left and right last night but this was one of the most fun nights I have had in War Thunder in a while. Prop planes with large cannons that can move and surprise people have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. In a patch full of new shiny top-tier toys (Yes we will get to them soon) Do not sleep on this one!

Honestly, my favorite part of this patch is that I no longer detonate the second my plane gently touches the ground. When you read about how durable certain planes were (P-47 in particular), then you watch them shed parts like they were attached with wads of gum the moment you try a gentle crash landing, it hurts the soul.

as a avid user of this dopameme machine what is probably happening is there using the default belt with has APHE rounds which can go straight through a target without going boomboom unlike the HE rounds which explode on contact. (note: even after researching 37mm belts you may want to stick with the default belt for air targets due to the fact that the APHE can go straight through armour, engines, crew etc without stopping making it great for pilot sniping as if you aim it right even if you miss by a little the pilot protection on a lot of planes will cause the APHE's fuse to go off making the shell blowup right next to the pilot.) sources ive shot a lot of planes with it.
