what max flight stick are u using to be exact? I visited their homepage, and it looks like its made in the late 80s. Is that the one? They dont have many videos or pictures of their products for that range. Is all their sticks with hydralics? Basically i wanna buy the stuff u are using, looks fun.

I've been dreaming of something like this for years! This is so freaking cool, and I love war thunder. I play on the pS4. Can you give the exact set up you are running, and is it compatible with Morpheus on ps4. which model max flight stick is that? could it work on a playseat flight chair? what about the foot pedals> i know it's a lot of questions, but I would really appreciate your feed back. William George This video shows the gear: DCS Huey on the Oculus Rift DK2 / Max Flight Stick - Collective Playstation was always cool in that you could use PC peripherals on it, so I don't see why they wouldn't (but couldn't say for sure). It is the Max Flight Stick (the 206 system I think) with the Ranger collective. Looking at his site they have improved them a lot! :) I replaced the pedals mine came with though, they weren't the best for airplanes (more heli focused) It could work with a normal chair or a playseat (I've used a few different chairs, just can't be too high otherwise no problems). The foot pedals are the Saitek Combat Pedals (they are metal with analog toe brakes, very nice!). I've upgraded to the rift DK2 with positional tracking and a much better screen. Just waiting for the final War Thunder patch to fix the IPD problem and I'll be back in the air there too. Here is the new setup running on DCS with the P51 Mustang. I'm finally got warthunder to work with my DK2 and it IS awesome! Having problems with the gun's aim reticle though. Is there a way to bring that in focus?

Its actually just constructed out of PVC pipe. Easy to work with and cheap too.

Can't wait for this to hit retail. It's the most excited I've been for anything involving a game since 3D first started to come out on systems like N64 and PS. My question though- Can I use a Rift to just watch a movie in vlc? I think it would be a different experience being that immersed in a film;seeing only what the director wants you to and nothing more.

There are a few apps made that allow you to sit in a theater and watch a movie, or watch a movie on a virtual screen in varying shapes/distances.

+5ch3nk Dk2 and the upcoming cv1 is fantastic for games....but for watching movies??...I don't think it will replace HD TV's for that purpose as of yet since resolution even on the CV1 is still not up to par with what you see on HDTV's, unfortunately.

warthunder very playable now ( Sept 2015) but due to resolutio/screen door effect of DK2 it won't be very competitive with online fighting if everyone else is on HD flatscreens. Maybe if someoene created a oculus custom battles server where evryone playing is using oculus then that could level the field.

EpicTaco Saitek makes a set of panels under the "Pro Flight" line. They work well, and have user written drivers that let you use them in a number of games.

The scales still all zoomed in and fucked up, its horrible to play. Its only decent if you haven't played something like Elite Dangerous where the scale is 1:1 If you have a rift just watch the video towards the end in with the rift on, its really poor. Well done for uploading this though and good job if you can play it without feeling sick with the distorted warping at the edges.

hello there, I have a DK2. I feel like flying but most games that I know (IL-2, wings of prey) are not compatible with oculus rift...this one is...is it any good? I just want to fly a bit in a japanese zero fighter, nothing too complicated. I see so many bad reviews on steam about this game. Can you pilot a zero in this game instantly? I really had some fun flying with TrackIR/freetrack 6DOF back in the days, would love to try the rift in a WW2 plane.

This is compatible with DK1, and is almost fully compatible with DK2 (the IPD for me is wrong so I see double). Once they sort that problem, it will be a great game (as it has been for DK1) on the Rift. You have to either unlock planes (no Zero at the start in multiplayer) or buy a premium plane or two if you want instant access to the better airplanes. It is a free to play game, so you can download and try it right now. If you want to fly a WW2 airplane right now that works in DK2, download DCS (also free to play) and it has a T-51 Mustang included that works GREAT in the DK2 : DCS P51 Mustang on the Oculus Rift DK2 / Max Flight Stick Eagerly awaiting War Thunder to get updated so it supports DK2. It is a very fun game to play :)

mdbuehler yes what you say is true...maybe i'll try war thunder and see how I can get the zero (and also the VR quality) but I hope it is possible to play offline, I really just want to experience the flight, not be competitive. What about DCS? I don't see the zero fighter among the available ones. Is it basically a free game with paid DLC (for a certain airplane) ? anyway a good take off on a F86 should be good though :)

rogermorse War Thunder does have an offline mode where you can do a number of missions, and a custom mission editor. No need to go online except to unlock planes. In the Rift I spend a lot of time offline. DCS doesn't have a Zero, sorry. They are adding a lot of planes though, so it could show up later. Just got a Sabre last week, and a Dora this week. MiG 21 in the works, and others in the pipeline along with a whole new graphics engine due out soon.

sixsimu You still need an internet connection, but once logged into the game put any aircraft in your lineup and choose "Test Flight". You can then use the mission editor to create any scenario you want. There are also single player missions you can get from the main menu (but you might have to buy that).

When I get in game, my rift is facing directly away from the menu. How do I re-center?

Mike Hawke I was 'C' before one of the later updates, now that doesn't work. You can use a hat stick if you have one to center up. There is also the old trick of starting the game with the rift pointed in the direction you need to adjust it too. If it starts you out looking 90 deg to the right, turn the rift that way before starting the game. Lame, but it used to work :)
