War Thunder - PBM-1 "We Got a New Float Plane!!!"

After so many years we have finally received a PBM Mariner for the tech tree! I was a little bit anxious because I wanted the Mariner to be fun... and did it deliver. This is why I play War Thunder. The adventures, the ridiculous moments, laughing, and reactions out of the other team were well worth it. In a patch full of jets, don't overlook this big guy.

14:30 Fun Fact: During WWI one of the first British aircraft was a biplane called the 'Quirk' by the pilots. The plane was so accident prone yet pilots actually saw success with it. Some instances of Quirk fails are: a plane starting up and the the engine combustion blowing all the cylinders out of the engine, a plane engine misfiring while in flight and actually flying backwards, and, here it is, an inexplicable occurrence to suddenly invert while at low speeds. One Quirk ace actually had this happen to him and he crashed in a tree. Upon extricating himself from the wreck he was approached by an infantry officer who looked to the pilot, then the plane, and asked him if he had crashed. The pilot, to his credit, and British wit, replied: 'No you idiot, I ALWAYS land upside down in trees, gives the papers something else to write about!'

honestly when I see people try and go for kills on dudes stacking planes, I get super ticked off. Did with my friends and while, yes we got a Pe-8 with 3 Parasite P-47s, a 190 came in and decide a quadruple was better than something funny... First pass blew center P-47 to a flaming wreck (which I continued to carry), left P-47 got his tail shot up and he went 90 degrees up then flat spinned to his doom. Second Pass killed me and him (right P-47 deployed).

@@jamesharding3459 i enjoy italian three engine like the z 1007 5( which is extremely survivable somehow) and the s m 79 tm , i am italian so i choose to play them by patriotism, also the 90 mm semovente and the m 43 75/46 is a meme pillbox on tracks if used well, and for really low tier the m 15 42 and fc 20 bis are pure fun literally no drawbacks

Alright, real talk here: Aside from the entertaining and goofy stuff these guys did in this new and massive hydroplane, I gotta hand it to Bo for J-ing out of his PBM at the end of that match. He could have held up the whole match for his enemies, made their lives hell while the He-112 would have tried to kill Bo, and if he failed the Do-something model would have been all that was left to try to find Bo and kill him. No, Bo stayed on the side of heroism, and new when the battle was over. In all of my WT combat record, I've never met an enemy that would do that, but it's nice to know that there are people, like Bo, that know when enough is enough. Maybe he should become a public speaker...?

Up until now, I didn't think highly of this aircraft. But today I was in a match where I got attacked by a Zero. I couldn't hit him well enough to kill him, but for some reason he flew beneath me, right under my belly. And it just came to my mind: push the stick down. I belly-rammed him, breaking his wing while suffering almost no damage. This thing is an absolute unit.
