The distance from London to Frankfurt is 400 miles? That's hilarious. It's a 300 mile drive from my home to my college and I don't even leave the boundaries of my state.

Our Countries here in Europe are pretty small in the grand scheme of things, compared to Canada, Russia, Australia,China and the USA but there is so much difference between all the countries that it makes everything feel so distant. This may sound really ignorant because i am European but is there any difference between most of the American states , IE North and South Dakota, Carolina or West Virginia etc, But look at the differences between the United Kingdom and Spain of France they are pretty big.
@direweeb
@direweeb 8 жыл бұрын
Nathan Cook The US is one of the most geographically diverse countries in the world. There's really just so much geographical diversity that it's hard to even start. We have Alaska's permafrost set against the heat of Arizona or the deserts of Nevada. We have coastal states, island states, prairie states. We even have multiple mountain ranges and gigantic lakes and rivers. Even the square states, which seem boring, were originally hellish landscapes of death where there was barely enough water to sustain life.
@nathancook237
@nathancook237 8 жыл бұрын
ninetails593 i never really thought of it like that, probably because im just used to the parts of the US that i have actually been to or seen on TV. I guess what i really mean is, is there any cultural diversity between Americans from the different states, apart from the native Americans ( dont shoot me for being Politically Incorrect ). Is there a big difference in the culture of someone from say Idaho and Wyoming for example, and also because ive been there). In Europe you only have to travel less than 100 miles and you could encounter a vast amount of different Culture. is this true of the US?
@direweeb
@direweeb 8 жыл бұрын
Nathan Cook Different local cultures tend to stem from the traditions of the people who settled there. There are states like Wisconsin that had huge influxes of German immigrants, and others like Wyoming that were settled by people who were brave or stupid enough to try to tame the frontier. Because of this, every state has its own unique culture in terms of what its residents find to be normal and proper, but everyone's the same in terms of national identity (Except Texas, sometimes). All I've ever personally experienced about culture is that people from Tennessee can't take the cold and desperately want people to see them as a part of the South.

Jingles Blind Hunt got tweaked a few patches back that a player of your team needs to be within 12-15km of the target for them to show up. So actually in the video Garrus did the smart thing by climbing as he kept the distance wide enough that they never spotted him.

Jingles, The Blind Hunt order is meant to be used as a counter to passive play in War Thunder. For the longest time in War Thunder an easy way to win would be to climb to 15k's up and just sit there until ground forces won for your team. This was a particularly bad problem in Realistic as bombers (usually B-17's and now the newer Canberra and IL-28 which are extremely annoying with their AI lock on turrets) would fly into space and pick of your team one by one as they approached. While I don't agree with gaijin on much anymore I believe that this was an effective and correct way to balance this problem. The Blind Hunt also deflects back to the user once its done, and I believe you must be within a 15k radius for it to work.

Trying to decide if I want to watch this or not. On the one hand, I watch basically everything Jingles uploads, and to the best of my knowledge, have watched every single video of his. That's a good streak that I'd hate to ruin. On the other hand, at this point I don't have a single fuck left to give for War Thunder. Then back to the first hand, the P-51 jock is named Garrus_Vakarian, and I love the Mass Effect series and Garrus in particular... but then again I really can't be assed to get invested in a War Thunder video... decisions decisions.

Great stuff Jingles! The 335 is a very interesting and VERY fast plane with push- pull configuration, and yes, they had to weld a "stick" to the bottom of the tail to stop the back prop from hitting the ground at take-off. Ta 152 was basically a lengthened 190D (slightly longer nose, very long tail, clipped wings and a great engine). Also a beautiful aircraft. That P51 D takes the cake though, what a ravishing lines! thx man!

When I was a kid, a very long time ago, my dad had a book issued by the RAF during WWII. About 1943 I think from the planes in it. I recall the Beaufighter and the Whirlwind. Also the Stirling, the Sunderland and the Catalina. Not mentioned were the Lancaster and the Mosquito. I'm guessing they didn't want such new aircraft mentioned. The Allison engined Mustang was in it. As I recall, it's been decades, the book mentioned that it had been disappointing in its intended role but excellent in the Army Co-operation role. I often wonder what happened to that book. It would be a gem to own now.

@rorschach6179 8 жыл бұрын
If you want a blind hunt mechanic, then the game should make all aircraft visible after 10mins of nothing happening. remember, every time you shoot an AAA or kill a bot, everyone gets a message on the screen and it doesn't take a genius to work out where all the artillery are disappearing. So, after 10mins of no kills whatsoever, you can have your blind hunt. Because the number of times that I have been the last guy alive, and I have used terrain/cloud cover to try to sneak up and set up a decent attack on a numerically superior enemy just to have blind hunt or whatever bloody order get used and then have to spend the next 2 mins getting screwed by the pay-to-win b******ds made me quit WT.

Guess its realistic to have Names and Vehicle information and distance of the vehicle in Realistic as well when the aircraft is spotted. That is what happens. So blind hunt basically just takes away the Hiding in the Far corners of the map. If you want Realism, play Simulator. But yeah you will crash before you take off...

So you think that in RB Terrain Matters? If a crew has highest spotting capability it will spot you if you get in range of spotting distance, no matter what BS you use. As I said before RB Air is BS... its just Arcade without Lead Indicator and slightly more fragile aircraft. Range and Distance Indicators is not RB. Tanks don't get them either in RB so why does Air? Because its Medium Difficulty Arcade Battle. Maybe they should just name it like that

At first I thought no matter how attractive an aircraft looks it's not an excuse to call it "f*ckable 190" but then I realized it's called "f*cker Wolf 190" and now it makes much more sense.

Maybe it's worth pointing out that, at the time the RAF approached North American Aviation about buying fighters, the then-future-Mustang was already on the drawing board. That was why NAA was confident enough to promise a product as quickly as they did.

This will be the LAST ever War Thunder video Jingles will ever do due to the grossly unethical attempt by the CEO of Gaijin Entertainment to encourage supporters of the game to abuse the KZbin copyright infringement reporting system to get unwanted (critical, drawing attention to bugs/hacks etc) videos taken down and their creators banned.

The P-51 was the first fighter with fully powered hydraulic flight controls; the pilot could steer a Mustang with his finger tips. It was called The Cadillac of the Sky because Cadillac was the first car to be equipped with power steering as standard equipment. The P-51 had a lead angle gun site with a projected cross-hair controlled by a electro-mechanical computer which gave it a big advantage while using high G maneuvers in combat. The P-51 in US service was equipped with 0.50 caliber machine guns which greatly improved it's fire power.

I was lucky enough some years ago my wife and I were at Santa Monica Airport (CA) checking out the museum when I saw through a open back bay door a Thunderbolt and a Mustang taxi by to take off. My wife & I watched the Thunderbolt with a deep throated roar go down the runway and slowly gain altitude. I told my to wife to "watch this!" and the Mustang powered up down the runway and leaped into the air!

Jingles, I've met a P-51 Mustang Ace Pilot. He was a really cool guy and by the time World War II ended, he had nine kills, one more and he would of been a double ace. He was telling me about how frightening, challenging, and frustrating it was to be chasing a fighter through a bomber formation and while trying to shoot at the fighter he had to not shoot his own bombers but at the same time avoid getting shot at by THEM. He also told about this one German pilot he went up against that would dive down below the cloud layer and several fighters would go after him, but the German pulled up while in the cloud so the American pilots who were diving down through the clouds, they'd come out to find no German fighter and not have enough time to pull up and crash into the ground. And for an old man, he still had a very firm grip in his handshakes.

Jingles, You can't use any order in Sim, and Sim is now in enduring confrontation only( that means you can respawn in sim, fly it all again and get (if you are very good) like 30 kills or so, you have about 6 hours max for a match in EC)

Nice job, Garrus. I would also like to mention the fact that losing an aileron in a heavily maneuvering fighter aircraft can very easily become a death sentence. I've learned the hard way that if you take any kind of damage to your maneuvering abilities in a fighter plane, YOU HEAD HOME! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
