I was in the military, too. I have to agree with BakyDuffer, the pay isn't worth it at all, the government can and will take everything away from you if it seems fit (denying VA claims, loans, "losing" important paperwork, etc.). Also, some of the people there are just as mindless as everyone else, and don't actually support you, and would rather have you down and out, versus doing great and succeeding in life. The worst part is, once you are down and out, they then desperately will try to do damage control and pretend to give a helping hand. Honestly, you'd be a lot happier just working a normal 9-5 job, going to school, and raising a family. Trust me, being in the military is one of those things that'll constantly irk you for the rest of your life, and ALOT of people don't know how to cope with it, and some can't and go over the edge. Take it from vets like us, there's nothing glorious in the military. Nothing at all.
7 жыл бұрын
Just to speak for the other side. If i hadn't joined the military i would never be where I am right now. The Army helped establish a foothold in life that otherwise I would never have. Now with that said...yes YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT! But its as easy as that. I was provided money for college, cheap home loans, and guess what, everyone wants to hire me for jobs! Since then I have decided to go in the medical field and am exceeding at my courses and on my way to bigger and better things. Don't let people blow smoke at you and shy you away from doing what you set out to do. There are always horror stories and granted War is terrible but with that said the military can give you the tools to change your life if you decide to work at it and not everyone in the military is going out murdering civilians lol. Its just ridiculous to not understand how many other jobs there are available to people other than combat arms (even in combat arms you dont have to murder civilians or make bad choices lol). Get your Masters degree then go into the medical side and become a physicians assistant and guess what ITS ALL FREE through the Army. Become a captain then make money and go travel, get out and have a life for yourself!! Dont give up one what you want! And dont listen to negative people. You had a bad experience well suck it up and drive on. Its your life!! Good luck !

Dude Arino why not flip burgers to pay for college? perhaps you have heard of student loans? what are student loans ? the government or a bank will lend you money to complete your education. once you have your degree and start working you pay it back...! there are endless options to make you stable and land you a career that is lucrative. every option is better than murdering people for a living... I feel horrible for most soldiers . the true victims of war are soldiers who have to live with what they've done forever . when they sign up for the military they think that they are doing the right thing . then reality sets in and you realize that you have killed innocent people. it is the worst pain to live with knowing you've taken another life.. if you have morals that is! you seem proud of your achievements and are a pathetic human as a result. having your education paid for is not a morally acceptable means to kill innocent men women and children. is it OK to kill your neighbour for his house?no. then why is it OK to kill someone in another country for an education?

This is unfortunately the democracy of USA and the West of Europe & NATO. Meaning that the top people of the decision maker in those countries not the general people. When the decision maker want to invade a country they try to find a lie to accuse the country of being sporter of a terrorist group like what happened to Gaddafi. The question is why they did that to Gaddafi reason Gaddafi not like the head of Saudi Arabia or the gulf state UAE's and other sheik whom are Puppet to USA and the west of Europe those sheik states never been called state of supporting terrorists group even though 9/11/ had Saudis person. Gaddafi knows well that who is behind the curtain of the decision maker in USA and Europe and made impossible for them to interfere in the libyan decision like their involvement in the Saudi Arabia and UAE's. Nowadays Libya is driven by Mali tea group whom supported by USA government proving that by handing over to USA Abouagila a libyan person accused of Lockerbie bombing. Lockerbie file was closed by Libya and Lockerbie victims and USA government

Joseph ivanovich true genuine American Conservatives are always anti-war. More wars of choice expand the State, which causes more taxes, which can go towards more wars. Larger State, more wars, etc., and always an eroding of civil liberties and freedoms. Always. Wars destroy freedom. Wars expand the government and the national security state apparatus which will suffocate the people eventually. USA: Republic not Empire

@@shmeckle666 Following the original, textbook definition of conservative, it *supported* the monarchy, empire, and imperialism *over* the republic, whereas "liberal" and "left-wing" were the terms for supporters of the republic. So, you cannot just ignore that and suddenly declare that the "true" definition of "conservative" is actually what you just wrote, when the literal history records show that that is clearly not true. "True conservative" loyalists, by their very definition as per the conception of the term "conservative" as a political one, supported the monarchy, empire, and imperialism, with liberalism advocating against imperialism and for the republic. The term "conservative" (otherwise long used apolitically, well before it became politicized in the 18th century) literally came to political life in the 18th century by being defined as *supportive of the monarchy.* Unless you advocate for entirely abandoning the whole left/right, liberal/conservative spectrum/paradigm and its entire dogma as whole, which I'm actually all for.

Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people here in Australia, this young man has nailed it. Many will not accept the real history of our country. Australia's history did not begin in 1788 as the British inspired propaganda will let you believe. We were fed this nonsense, little knowing that civilisation, and a thriving one, existed in Australia for possibly up to 60,000 years, unbroken.

Thank you for your honesty. Question, in your opinion, does our military also do the dirty work for Isreal? I would enjoy your perspective on this matter. Also, I have been hearing from military soldiers since 2002 that the real reason we went into Iraq was because Rumsfeld wanted to overthrow seven middle eastern countries starting with Iraq. They told me that Rumsfeld manipulated President Bush by using his Christian roots and The book of Revelations prophecy, comparing Iraq to Babylon so his agenda would be carried out.

America created this unending chaos in the middle east, and sooner or later this will end up to roost from where it all started. You can't blame a man for going out of his mind and doing the unthinkable and retaliating because his entire family, and generations of his race had been obliterated, and promise not to rest until he gets justice and restore the dignity of his people. *Order followers* don't follow their conscience, they do not care about any difference between right and wrong but simply want to abdicate their moral responsibility to make such judgments for themselves onto someone else...ie..onto the ones giving them the orders. The order followers, in my opinion, are in fact more culpable than the ones who are giving the orders because they're the ones taking action and bringing about the manifestation of all the attrocities that are occurring such as the beatings, maimings, mass murders, the killing and jailing of innocents...etc. *_"I'm just doing my job...I'm just following orders."_* As if your actions somehow don't make you an evil person. And just where was it that we all heard this excuse before? Oh, that's right! It was at the NAZI trials which took place in Nuremberg Germany in 1945 after the end of WW2. These excuses didn't cut it back then and they sure as shit don't cut it today. If you truly are a good and moral person and you're in either the military or the police, then you need to leave those cults and join with those of us who seek to end their reign of terror on humanity.

This very articulate and wise man is one of the most committed activists I've ever run across. I am with you Vince. I am thinking about what kind of resistance is it going to take to combat the powerful war Industrial complex and other evil forces that threaten our freedoms and cause death and destruction for millions of people foreign and domestic. Our country's foreign and domestic policies are based on many lies ,sexism and racism. But presently I am on a mission to build awareness about the most pressing threat to humanity's survival that there is presently a complete media blackout. That is the 3 uncontained meltdowns at the Daiichi nuclear power plants In FUKUSHIMA , Japan that is leaking Into the Pacific ocean and has killed almost all life in the ocean, and causing millions of dead and dying sea animals to wash up on the west coast beaches. If another earthquake happens close to the FUKUSHIMA nuclear plants, the population of the entire northern hemisphere wlll have to stay indoors for two months or longer due to radiation exposure! Scientists have said they expect millions of people to die from radiation exposure over the next few years! Please research this and share what you learned In your presentation. Please Vince, start with Helen Caldecott, an expert on nuclear disasters and the effects of radiation exposure on humans and all life forms. Thank you for your great presentation and activism!

When you get rid of it, there will be a power vacuum. That power vacuum will be filled by individuals who are a lot more brutal. All movements start with high standards that you speak of, but they end up being more monstrous than those that they are fighting against. People would rather deal with the monster they know, we have no idea what kind of monsters this movement would create.

once I seen the supply sheets in the army that also had prices on it, it all made sense. they are getting rich on us. they own or have substantial shares in these companies the government overspends on.

A very inspiring and heartfelt talk, indeed! The only caution I would add is that we (humanity) don not get so wrapped up in achieving our humanitarian goals that in the process (God forbid) we become what we are trying avoid (kind of backfiring). Baha'i Faith speaks of peaceful process of the problems/maladies mentioned in this talk and offers a peaceful solution to the problems facing the humanity at this time. The Oneness of Humanity Independent, Unfettered Investigation of the Truth Religion is Progressive, All having a Common Foundation Religion must be the Source of Unity True Science and True Religion must Correspond The Equality of Men and Women Elimination of all Prejudices Universal Compulsary Education A Spiritual Solution to the Economic A Universal Auxiliary Language

Only a two issues I have with this speech. He says everyone in America has guns. That's not true. In fact, most people in America don't own any kind of firearms; despite the 2nd Amendment. Womanization: Yes, it does happen here, but it's not as bad as he says. For every one man who abuses his wife, there are several others who aren't. The media loves to exaggerate these problems; gun violence especially. His perception and experiences about the military are difficult to argue with, however.

Yeah right dude, it may not be your experience (about guns) but for many many Americans, like where I'm from, everyone has guns. Also, womanization doesn't just mean beating your wife, but objectifying and mistreating, cheating on, etc... are all very very common in the US. Especially about valuing a woman for her looks... Just look at how advertisements portray women!

This guy is misleading just about everyone watching this except for those who have close association with former and current enlisted men/women. Xenophobia? Homophobia? Racism? Sexism? It's not common in the US Military. We didn't go to Iraq to kill innocent people we went to kill terrorists whom tortured, raped, murdered, and enslaved many of their own people. The Iraqis embraced many of the American Marines and Soldiers as allies in order to topple a dictator. This "man" is just a leftist who seems to despise everything this great country is made up of. Patriarchy? Bullshit. I can't stand to hear this guy speak anymore
