Great Video, i Wish you could have made it sooner. lol i went to cedros in july i over packed, But going there made me realize you dont need much, Jig stick to throw irons for yellow, dorado, calico, and another Bass rod that you can throw swimbaits and use droperloop to catch those halibuts. going there again this October, hopefully i can get on some more calico bass this time.

I noticed that you only brought 2 pair of shorts, and no towels, do they provide laundry service and towels for showering at Cedros Island Kayak Fishing Tours?
@WARBAITS5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ernest, Cedros Island Kayak Fishing offers daily laundry service (no charge). So I usually bring two sets of clothing, while I'm fishing one set, the other set is being washed. They have towels and TP and other small amenities. I bring a small first aid kit, personal items and what ever else I can squeeze into my bag

6:09 interesting set up! I assuming that a casting rod type, so I'm wondering how you do vertical jigging with a non-Jigging rod? are you more careful of not bending the rod to much?
@MC-pz3ps4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Afran! for the tips, and videos. I'm a long ranger that's always at the bow casting surface irons the whole trip for yellowtails. I love it! Hope this is helpful, for hand cuts, apply a little super glue on cuts/cracks, when they start, to stop them progressing, and also that finger tape to protect the cracks, I usually get one or two each trip. I learned that from a commercial fisherman friend of mine. Do Yellowtail sometimes bite swimbaits better than surface Irons? And is the Yellowtail limit on a Cedros Island Trip 15, like on a Long Range Trip?
@WARBAITS4 жыл бұрын
Great info with the super glue! Sometimes the yellows do want the swimbait over the surface iron. It depends on conditions and bait around I'd guess. We had a guy fishing the swimbait and he did land yellow. I think the Cedros limit is 10 Yellowtails. I caught 15 yellowtail that one day and released 2/3 of them.

Hey Affron, how does the Revo toro beast hold up in the saltwater? Can I also use if for freshwater swimbait fishing too? love the videos!!

I have been using the Revo Beast 40 HS in salt water since mid 2017. So far a very good reel and it holds up to saltwater. I do wash off all my gear with fresh water after every use. The reel fits in the hand comfortably all day

Thanks Afran! We went to Cedros Island this past July for the first time. Your other videos of Cedros was extremely helpful us having a successful trip. We're making our reservations for 2020. This video is a must for anyone thinking of fishing there. Quick Question: I just purchased two of the Abu Garcia Beast 40HS and I'm looking at the Phenix rods to pair them with. The Phenix rods you show are Phenix's "Swimbait" line. Any feedback on Phenix's M1 Inshore line of rods? Thanks again!
@WARBAITS5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the support and feedback. The M1 is a great line of rods. Many of my friends use this series. If you have two rods you need, I'd look at the MH and H. It's good to have a spread of rods for different lures. Good luck out there!
