I've had an Eldorado for almost a year and I like it a lot! I got a Simply Light Designs Simplicity asymmetrical tarp and had an extra two loops added to it so I can hook my bugnet pullouts directly to the tarp so there's not extra lines on the ground to trip over. The stuffsack/organizer works great. I shortened my ridgeline because I was getting calf ridge and I think I fixed that problem. I used 1.75mm Zing-It to make a new, shorter ridgeline to save weight. The stock ridgeline was just long enough to make four soft shackles with! That saved me some weight where I was using carabiners before. Another thing I learned about this hammock, and any other 11 foot hammock with ridgeline: A Snugpak Jungle Blanket XL fits perfectly over the top of the hammock on a diagonal. I loop the two opposite corners through the continuous loops in a figure-8 style, no knots or fasteners. It makes a wind and water resistant winter storm cover and really holds a lot of heat in. I can play on my phone in really cold weather without my fingers freezing when I use it. It even leaves a little air hole where the 'window' is located on the bugnet. It comes with a two pound weight penalty, bit it's also a giant blanket that I feel comfortable using near open flame because a little pinhole wouldn't ruin it like a down blanket would be ruined. Also if my down were to get wet I still have a synthetic blanket to help keep me warm. The Jungle Blanket XL has earned a permanent spot in my winter kit.

I just hooked my bugnet up to my tarp guy line this past weekend and it worked out great. I have a shorter ridgeline that I made for a previous hammock that I may try out for it. But haven't found it too uncomfortable so far. Thanks for all the tips and taking time to comment! And I appreciate you watching.

Nice look at this hammock. I'll have to take a look at your video of hanging two hammocks together. Thanks for the share.

Dope shirt. Love the wood brothers. My son and I hammock camp in the warbonnet gear as well. Thx for the content.

We finally got to see them back at the first of this year. One of the most fun shows I've ever been to. Thanks for watching.

Did the bungee you highlight at 5:36 come with the hammock or is that after market?
@CameronHall884 жыл бұрын
Hey Logan, the bungees come with the hammock from Warbonnet. They do a pretty good job sealing the small hole where the bug net meets the hammock. Thanks a lot for watching!

Nice rig. I almost bought a Warbonnet but I'm just to restless for a hammock. Sounds like a cool way to sleep with your son though. Great review Cameron.

Yeah these are great for me and Caden. But I am way more comfortable in a bridge hammock. More like sleeping in a normal bed. I can sleep completely on my side in a bridge and be completely comfortable.

Hi, how tall are you? Do you fell comfortable sleeping in it? Thank you very much. Nice video

I am 6 foot. I definitely fit well inside the El Dorado. I use them mostly for hanging around when car camping. I have backpacked in these hammocks a couple times but I prefer a bridge hammock like the Ridgerunner.

@@CameronHall88 thank you very much. I'm 6,2 and I'm undecided between this and a 12 foot hammock
@CameronHall883 жыл бұрын
When I started hammock camping, 10 foot was pretty much the standard. Most places didn't even offer 11 foot. The 11 foot is nice for the extra room. I dont know if it's worth it for a 12 foot for me. I honestly didn't even know people were using 12 foot hammocks. If you end up with a 12 foot you ought to have plenty of room!

@@CameronHall88 I'm probably going with the Eldorado because I found it on EU stores. Thanks a lot for your opinion, very appreciated

I have 5 different brands of hammocks for camping plus the Warbonnet Hammocks. The ones i use the most are the Warbonnet Hammocks. For canoe camping and car camping it's the Warbonnet Blackbird. . For backpacking it's the Traveler in either a single or double bottom. The single bottom is nice when the bugs are not around. The double bottom is better for buggy season since Mosquitoes can not bite me threw the material. A bug net is used with the two different traveler hammocks. A double bottom is also nice because you can slide a self inflating air mattress in between the layers if you want to. Using a air mattress I like to have mine 1/2 to 3/4 inflated so it will conform to myself and the hammock.

Hey Chuck, that is a lot of hammocks! I would have gotten 2 blackbirds on the sale if I had the money for both. I thought about a double layer but I have never used a pad. Only an underquilt. I did use permethrin before we used them the first time and haven't had any problem with mosquitoes so far.

Does it bother anyone else that Warbonnet has a logo of a Native American with a Native American head dress and it's owned by a white man? I bought an underquilt from this company and when I saw the logo I had to send it back and they charged me a 20% restocking fee but I could not stomach the cultural appropriation by this company.
@CameronHall883 жыл бұрын
Well the name of the company is Warbonnet. Which is another name for a Native American Headdress. And the logo is on their website. So most people who might be offended, know what they're getting into before they order something. And I don't pretend to know or assume all of Brandon's lineage. But I honestly am impressed that something like that, means enough to you and your personal morals, that you'd return a great product. There are definitely plenty of other good hammock gear companies out there that might have less offensive (to some) names and logos. It's awesome to live in a country and economy where both the producers and consumers are free to choose whatever they want.

Brandon also named the company Warbonnet after a specific mountain that also goes by that name after having a meaningful backpacking trip to that area which led him to starting the company. If you look at the logo, you can see the silhouette of the mountain in the Native American headdress. He also felt that since natives were the original inventors of hammocks, it would be an appropriate homage to that cultural history.
