Glasses are safe as long as theyre made for you to wear - its ok to buy them - silly to spend lots on them when one can get them at a good deal at a another place - always check where you are buying them from and what you are paying for them - there could always be a place with the best prices for good glasses

It's very interesting, that Neil Blumenthal would mention that when deciding on a company to build their companies website - "they chose the cheapest quote, one that was half the price of all the others". He later went on to say that 6 months later they realized it had many problems and wasn't very good, so they scrapped it and went to another company. Neil Blumenthal, just like the product you manufacture and the business model you brag about, you get what you pay for. Your frames can not handle routine adjustments, your lenses are sub par, and your brick and mortar stores are staffed with less than stellar staff with little to no experience. This is an industry that serves the PATIENT best when glasses are purchased from the doctor who wrote the prescription. A complete set of eyewear is not expensive when you consider that there is years and years of research and development in very advanced lens technology, and artistic development of eyewear - even more so when your purchasing from independent, small family owned eyewear designers and manufacturers. There is a big difference between Warby Parker eyewear and eyewear coming from mid to high end independent eyewear company and lenses from one of the best companies in the world. Once again, you get what you pay for. Period.

Have you ever had their glasses before? because your statement reads more like a competitor (such as an independent eye glass shop) than a customer as their are no specifics of how they failed or even that you purchased a pair. I would also point out in some states it is illegal to get an eye exam and buy your glasses from the same business, their are work arounds such as having 2 separate business located in the same shopping center but they can not share a door. I recently went in to a warby parker shop and the staff was way nicer than any where I have ever bought glasses (I've worn glasses since I was a little kid) of the probably dozen or so pairs of glasses I've gotten in my life I find sales people treat you more like a bother than anything else normally whether its a mom and pop or a big box store, with my prior best experience being at a chain called Binyons eye world and once of the 3 times I bought glasses there was it a really good experience and not the normal bother. I would also point out the luxotica is the dominant company that owns most of the major brands of eye ware in the world. Glasses have been around for literally centuries so arguing R&D is a not a strong place to start either since apparently Warby Parker is still making good glasses at an inexpensive price point, at least from what I have found when researching online and talking to a few people I know who have bought glasses from them. I still haven't got my glasses from them yet, I should get them next week but as of right now as a college student a $95 pair of glasses is a life saver for me. Also luckily for me if they turn out to be bad I can return them for a full refund within 30 days.

Welcome to Asia where you can get perfectly fine glasses for $25. In my 13 years pf wearing glasses, I have bought 5 frames and the last two are the ones I use today and together, they cost me less than $70. So yeah, $500 for glasses is ridiculous.

Just spent 1.5 hours trying to browse frame styles from Warby Parker. To see anything you first have to take a "quiz". Can't bypass. Okay, take the GD quiz. Results? Blank webpage. Try again, no frame styles appear. Try, try and try eventually said kiss off to this scam

A by definition custom made product costs more then a mass produced product and that doesn't resonate with you... funny.

Very disappointed in my experience. The cost of my glasses was going to be over 400 bucks and I didn't get an exam from a doctor. Came home and watched this video. Now I understand the business model developed at Wharton. Bait and switch. But sell it like a silicon valley garage startup to give that regular joe quality. No different than any other business school derived company. When are you going public? Also being a nurse that has worked at St jude. Explain to me this giving money to a charity and then they buy glasses back from you. is that another Wharton school business trick.

there's differently something going on. I recently bought 2 pairs of prescription glasses for only 150 dollars. I expected the quality to be shit so I threw them onto the ground multiple times as a youtube video to demonstrate their low quality. However, the glasses came out with no fucking scratches at all. Idk what vodoo magic they doing at WP but I sugget everyone stay away.
