idk if this has any importance to you but both of your keys can be read. Its a little pause game but if you know hot to skip single frames there is no difficulty on just copying your cd-keys

@@jhfrzhb i fixed this issue. It has something to do with the "Best Sellers" version of Frozen Throne. So if you manage to get the none "Best Sellers" version, you should be all good :)

Bit of a Necro but this may help other people too who stumble upon it. There are 2 versions of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. The classic version and the "Best Sellers" version. They are virtually identical except the "Best Sellers" version does not install "War3Unin.dat" and "War3Unin.exe", both files being checked by both versions of Frozen Throne to see if it is installed. Thankfully, Frozen Throne doesn't verify or check the contents of the files, just the fact they exist. As such, you can trick the installer into acknowledging your installation. Disable "Hide File Extensions" if you haven't already (i.e. Instead of just seeing a text document called "Dummy", you'll see "Dummy.txt"). This is necessary. The option is usually in folder options (the ability to see file extensions changes based on OS but should be easy enough to find). Go to the install location of your Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos (Default should be something like "C:\Program Files\Warcraft 3" but you can move the installation anywhere and it'll run just fine). Create a text file and rename the entire file to "War3Unin.dat" (without the quotation marks), overwriting the .txt extension. Disregard the warning about the file becoming unstable and hit "Yes". Create a text file and rename the entire file to "War3Unin.exe" (without the quotation marks), similar to "War3Unin.dat". Attempt to install Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and it should now see your Reign of Chaos installation. This fix was mentioned on Blizzard's own website originally. However, with the introduction of reforged forcing all Warcraft 3's to be come reforged, I believe the shut down the installation FAQ and this nugget of wisdom is harder to find.

The patch will fix the CD issue. It worked for ISO virtual CDROM.

Can anyone help with install? I picked up some pre-owned Battle Chest discs on eBay but I need help installing! I installed Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos with no issue whatsoever, but when it comes to installing The Frozen Throne, it keeps giving me the same issue. The installer states that I need to install Warcraft 3 first... Which I already have installed. Is there any way around fixing this issue? I also have my CD keys registered on my Blizzard account, but I understand that I can't just download the games without it prompting me to download Reforged (which I don't want).

Hey! Absolutely, you only would need a programm that is able to read/mount ISO files. I can't quite remember if Windows 10 has this feature or not, but something like daemon tools should help.

It's a false-positive. You can check the file with a Anti-Virus of your choosing. The Virustotal website is also good (which is literally linked in the description).

@@t0rven You could try to force v-sync off in the global nvidia settings. If you have a nvidia grahpics card that is. Other then that you would need to tweak your registry and i don't want you to break your computer. @@VincentADK i have vsync off and i have some regedit tweaks like lockfb set to 0 which is the game vsync that someone said and the refreshrate to 144 but its still the same.. do you know any more regedit tweaks? im used to playing on 144hz with 144fps so seeing this 64fps mouse is really ugly
