Actually if You don't care about Skeletons Mortar Teams are superior to Meat Wagons (slightly less damage for way less resources and popcap, with ability to be healed)

I can't help but remember the True Colors map in Starcraft Broodwar every time I see this map, which I think is notably harder than this one since you have no hero units... and are fighting Protoss. I always went for the Protoss base first just to get them out of the way. Back when I played this campaign the first time around, I never thought to just focus killing the production like that, but then that was during the days when I mostly just a-clicked my armies into it and did very little micro besides the heroes. Lots of leaving spellcasters on autocast then.

Oh I just played that mission lol. I tried going for Protoss production but they just rebuilt it after the sneak attack. I needed 24+ maxed ultras and hydras to win.

Jay finally giving in to the endless requests of "Possess an enemy worker pleaaaaaaaaaase" is one of this week's highlights. It was the equivalent of a musician playing a song that he hates... Why are the undead sleeping anyway? They run on dark magic and mind control, they don't really need to think or replenish energy so they should just always be awake

When I first played this chapter, I cracked up laughing at the confused footmen. For Lord Garith ehhhhh Lord Detheroc.

Time-stamp 2:15 - Have Sylvanas and the gang move right, immediately 2:23 - Possess two of bombastic-dwarves, leave the other guard asleep. After that, continue moving towards the right 2:43 - Move south to attack the base 2:52 - Have your units attack the northeastern portion of the base first. • Meanwhile, have Sylvanas move south and Charm an abomination. 3:15 - From the northeastern position, move your forces down, swinging like a door 3:50, 4:07, 4:20 - Start attacking the citadel, along with the production structures. 3:57 - Train two more ghouls and acolytes at your home base, so an acolyte can haunt a gold mine. Recruit four banshees as well 5:00 - Goblin Mines, use them if you still have them. 5:18 - Even if there’s a graveyard left or another structure, move on to the right! 5:26 - Recruit four more banshees, haunt that goldmine on the top left corner of the map! 5:37 - Have your blue dragon slowly attack the buildings on the left side. 6:10 - Have the dwarves attack the production structures on the right side. 6:17 - Charm another abomination 6:35 - Recruit two more banshees 6:45 - After destroying the meat wagon production structure, have your dwarves and other units attack the citadel 7:18 - Have the banshees possess the group of three on the left side of the area where you started with Sylvanas and company. 7:38, 9:25 - After destroying the citadel, attack the crypt and boneyard. Once the production structures are gone, head far left to attack the human base. You should have four bombastic dwarves at your disposal. 7:50 - Meanwhile, build three guard towers next to the goldmine in the upper left corner of the map. Shortly before you attack the human base, start building more guard towers at home-base, along with a slaughter-house. 11:00 - Build another slaughter-house at base! 12:01 - Generate two Obsidian Statues, a few more banshees 12:37 - Send your frost dragon the the northwestern goldmine to defend 14:00 - Gather your forces at home-base, including your frost dragon. Build more ziggurats, and recruit more crypt fiends to defend at home-base. Prepare to move out! 15:17 - Move out west, then pivot north to fight some yetis. Charm a level 5 yeti! 15:46, 16:30 - After beating the western yetis, move east. Prepare for another Garithos attack! 18:10, 19:10 - After crushing the eastern yetis and defending against a Garithos assault, move south, the path that runs next to the undead bases you fought previously! Head for the northern human base, you’ll fight Garithos. 19:02 - Silence Garithos with Sylvanas. 23:00, 24:10, 26:53 - To complete the map, you may have to destroy the leftovers (eg, graveyards and ziggurats) you left behind in the undead bases. 25:10, 26:00 - Potential items to buy, messing around with inventory. 28:18 - *Note on Goblin Mines: Without Goblin Mines, you can still wreck two bases, probably.

Wow, I always attacked the human base first because I see it as the weaker. Never considered taking Detheroc right away, but it seems to be way more efective. Also, you can sell your own buildings for gold to get items at the end

This mission reminds me a lot of the StarCraft BW Zerg mission where Kerrigan betrays the Raynor and Mengsk. Focusing on just killing the workers and command centers while they're sleeping made that mission so much easier. Also, Sylvannas is a lot like Kerrigan.

This mission ground should've been reworked to actually represent the ground of Lordaeron Capital City ruins, walls and gardens (Sylvanas' base could of be Brill area). And the next Mission where you kill Balnazaar should of been the then-under-construction Undercity with the Garithos and the Humans attacking from the sewers while Sylvanas attacks from the middle (elevator areas) and clean quarter by quarter similarly like the Dalaran mission where you kill Antonidas in RoC.

About possessing workers, lately I have been hearing whispers about possessing the Naga in last mission allows you to actually built structures and units, perhaps you should give it a shot.

Hmm...I really wanna try this trat soon. - Aim only for their farms/ziggurats and castles/black citadels, and also their altars if possible Reason: Sure, it's not gonna complete the objective, but it will prevent them from training more warriors, and attempting to destroying their structures of food supply and workers, and quite possibly the altars and seeing their building productions doing absolutely nothing will be quite satisfying XD. also I've done it successfully in the mission "Blackrock and Roll" since the orc base doesn't have a great hall. a dick-ish strat, but super effective if you're a type of player who loves to delay a mission.

Always went after the humans first and possess mortars, priests, and knights and then if I was lucky I'd wipe out the outer UD base - for some reason I never considered clearing the UD first, or possessing/charming their units.

Thanks for the video, helped me a lot with the mission on hard. I didn't have the mines to finish detheroc quickly, so main forces were delayed to attack the top human base. I went with double crypt and 10 ghouls with frenzy and +1/+1, they were good on getting a head start on it - they chew through buildings faster than any siege.

Yes, possess the workers! Seriously, if you can possess and build enemy stuff, why NOT? That is, if you got the time and resources to build them up, OR if devs didn't see this and put restrictions (like in some patches, for example the silvermoon mission, your possessed worker could start building something, but it would stop at 100-ish hp and no further, or not allowing said worker to build at all). Now for the topic at hand - that was impressive work in only 7 minutes time before they wake up (tho undead sleeping would be kinda weird, tho warcraft universe allows so no comment on that). Those are some sick sideburns on Varimathras, was he like that in WoW, or this is just for reforged? Furthermore, that is one proper looking Doom Guard, in actual armor, like the old one (not really liking the unarmored doom guards, they feel incomplete). We szhall see what next episode has in store for us.

I attack the undead base, but I leave a ziggurat and one dragon lair, then I leave Silvanas near by. When the enemy wakes up, they create frost worms at the same rate as her charm spell and she just keeps collecting frost worms for free. The enemy runs out of money after 7, but if I keep restarting the game (about 5 times) the AI makes the game harder by giving the enemies more money, apparently, and I get over 20 frost worms out of it for free. I have adopted this strategy whenever the enemy has frost worms and a base.

So disappointed that you're not using possesion on human peasants and buy more time to build and train siege engines and other human units. You're just only using undead units and not any human units in this Reforged mission. Very disappointed... 😔
