Essentially make sure Furion tries to tank most of the damage, since only infernals can do some real damage to him, and place mines before the dreadlord hero comes so that his infernals get killed by the mines.

Archie charges before the very end of the mission (around minutes 45) only if the human Castle or orc Fortress are destroyed (he comes in to clean the base quicker). If you keep the Castle alive, Arch will not come before just the end of the mission.

I didn't think it was possible to keep the human base standing on hard mode until watching this. I just went back to WC3 specifically for this mission and was able to successfully defend human base following the same strategy. I'd add a few comments with respect to strategy: -I like to fight right in front of the human town hall during the later waves. I find the peasants offer a good distraction. The enemy units will go out of their way to kill the peasants while being burned down instead of attacking my units. -During the pitlord/lich wave, I have my mounted archers focus fire the doom guards, as their AOE can wreak havoc if left unchecked -During the dreadlord wave, I have my mounted archers focus fire the infernals for the same reason. -I found the timing of Tyrande's trip to the goblin merchant to be very important. If she was sent too late, she wouldn't be back in time to assist with the next wave. -In between waves, I always send my dryads to Jaina to benefit from her mana aura. Then I send them to the back of the human base as the wave arrives so they stay behind the front lines and don't get themselves killed right away. -If Jaina does something stupid and gets herself killed, it becomes much harder, as her AEO is a critical component. Keeping her in the healing rain is important. Great video and strategy overall, nice work.

What I do is destroy Archimonde's base using landmines, invulnerability potion and scroll of Town Portal with Tyrande, while Furion defends Jaina's base for a while. I just have to make sure to blow up the Black Citadel first with all the Acolytes on the first go, then it's just a matter of repeating until all production buildings are gone. The only problem is that this takes less than 15 minutes and then I have to go AFK for over half an hour because the game won't set the countdown to 0 like it does on the last undead ROC mission. Goblin Landmines are bullshit.

Night Elves gave up on their immortality using the World Tree to defeat Archimonde and if they beat Archimonde with just land mines, the world tree is going to stay intact meaning they wouldn't have lost their immortality. Chris Yoo No, its to make it possible to speedrun this mission. In Human Mission 5, the mission ends if you destroy both Undead bases before the 30 minute timer expires, but the lore of that battle doesn't change.

Spectre Archimonde is supposed to reach the World Tree and Furion is supposed to sacrifice the World Tree to kill Archimonde and prevent him from absorbing the power of the World Tree. If humans, orc and night elves just kill Archimonde before he reaches the World Tree, then it is a major alternation in the story line.

Great strategy, man! Using it, I finally managed to complete the last mission satisfied in the end. As a teen I only managed to beat the mission by harassing Archimonde so that he does not reach the power circle in time - humans, orcs and half my own base were no more. It was only a pyrrhic victory. But your goblin-griffin-driad combo allowed me to achieve a real victory at last. Thank you!

Posted 10 years ago and helped me today with this mission on hard. The flying archers, dryads and the heroes combo was broken. The only base standing was my own because as soon as I saw that they were attacking with two heroes I bailed very fast. Thank you so much. This should help me now with the other campaigns as well.

I tried to make a giant forest of Protectors while tanking damage with the bears and have made it to the point where I had just 12 seconds on the clock, but by the time Archibald himself waltzed in, I was beyond destroyed and had no forces to stop him to just walking into the circle, so close yet so far, I will now try to execute your strategy, hopefully I'll be able to beat this final mission, oh man, I was about to give up all hope...

I litterally won this mission by a hair. All my bases were gone, and the Elves were on their last breath. I tried to hold off the demon lord as much as possible, building stuff in his way. I just managed to win thanks to a night elf defense building blocking his way.

i don t know about you, but i used to play with any race by keeping my ground troops patroling and defending base, while i attack by air. i remember that orcs and night elf were the most effective with this startegy. i can t remember exactly my plan(i played it along ago), but anyway mounted hippogriphs were very good along with night elf dragons and orc air fighters.

Aleksa Petrovic I was always more of an aggressive push player. Making waves of infantry troops to intercept my opponent's forces before they even reached my base and then making my way slowly towards my opponent's base by establishing advantageous points with towers. Of course, the drawback of this meant I'd constantly be losing small waves, but I found I could always keep my population under 50 this way and so resupplying was simple.

This is Amazing, fantastic job! I recently tried beating this level on hard mode, spent so many hours and failed, countless saves almost every wave, trying different combos, only to foresee i wont make it in time and have to re-do the level from fresh with different approach. Eventually what worked for me was massing Archers/Druid of the Claw bears. And have a bunch of druid of the talon towards the end of holding my base with cyclones. GG awesome video.

This was also my strategy, except I used two control groups, one for heroes, bear druids and hippo riders, and the next for druids of the talon and dryads. I remember dreadlords and pit lords went mad and pursued druids after they cycloned them.

I barely passed on hard it with archemond almost destroying my main base I had like 3 buildings left i didnt use a single mine, which now I understand the massive importance of them. I just had good items on my heroes I didnt want to bother with going to get mines all the time, I built gazilion towers on jainas base they didnt do much but I managed to hold them until minute 27:00. then on thralls base I opted with bears and dryads, managed to hold them until the 10 minute mark. then my main base I continues with bears and dryads and just barely made it with archemond coming at the 30 second mark and destroying all my army and alsmot all my base

1. Talon can only attack air units. 2. Bears are weak. Mana burn+possession eats them as well as crypt fiends.

My first hour trying this (on normal) ended with me giving up and using cheats. I was pretty much convinced it couldn't be beaten, let alone without even losing Jaina (which I never managed to hold for more than 5 minutes). Besides, my passion for military history left me far too infuriated at the map to continue, considering how the undead camp is straight below a cliff housing the orc base, which IRL would have meant an irrecoverably catastrophic disadvantage for the undead. I'm glad I found videos proving that it can indeed be done, because now I know I will NEVER try this level again. All those actions, all those clicks, all those little movements and jumps around the maps that you do, always going back and forth with Tyrande, managing all those items, bloody hell I get anxiety just watching this. The attacks are just too frequent, I just cannot think nor act fast enough for this. Maybe I could manage, but there's no way in hell it would be anywhere close to a fun experience for me.

I won it by an even slimmer hair. Took about 10 tries. Basically, I had ONE unit left, and Archimonde was literally 5 seconds away from reaching the tree and failing the mission. 20 seconds remained on the clock. I won by using the unit to aggro Archimonde and lure him on a merry chase. It took many tries due to the unit's low health. By the time the countdown hit 0, Archimonde was about 2 ft from reaching the circle.

Honestly,this was the easiest last mission in RoC for me than any other (Unlike the last mission of the Undead) coz of course here you have allies and your main focus is just to defend.Luckily,when you still have your base by 5 mins,it will be too late before Archimonde goes to the World Tree and then still needs to destroy your structures before he rushes to the circle

+Mami Tomoe 8 chimeras and 16 Hippogryphs will make short work on any kind of army. Unlike frozen throne counterpart, ROC Chimera is piercing damage type attacker, they can attack spell immune units (infernal for example). Heavy ground units have heavy armor which take extra damage from piercing attack while those that have medium and small armor have very little hit points. Thus they can clear any ground units with ease. Undead air units will not be able to cope with your cheap and deadly horde of Hippogryphs. The AI in this final chapter also don't use combination of many different units. They will not be able to overcome Chimeras and Hippogryphs. Not to mention both Furion and Tyrande abilities are highly compatible for supporting the army. Furion Thorn Aura will return 30% of damage done by Gargoyles, his Ultimate greatly heal the entire army. Tyrande Aura give a high amount of damage bonus to Chimeras. In other words, Night elves air army is completely OP if they allow you to use Chimera.

It is pretty useless IMO. Furion can ulti without being overwhelmed, because he just heals - but Tyrande gets overwhelmed if she casts ulti. Plus the dreadlord keeps sleeping her or cancels it with his ulti :)

Better would be to put ancient protectors right behind your troops, in front of jaina's castle. That way they provide some dps agaisnt aboms and infernals who get close to your dryads, and you'll have mines in front of them so they'll get destroyed if they get too close.

Branko Dimitrijevic He's controlling only the usual 12 units at once. He's just using a graphic option to display health bars over every unit permanently, that's why you see their bars above even though they are not selected.

Spiderjazz Parker I did use her ulti a few times, but I cannot use it when Dreadlord arrives (he puts her to sleep, and I need the spell immunity necklace on Furion to keep the heal going)

Mines are op and cheating ^^ Having 14-15 Hippogryph Archers at all times, 3 Dryads to remove Curse, and 1 Druid of the Claw to cast Roar, will make you hold the human base to the last 15-20 minutes. You will lose the Orc base with about 5 minutes left, and then the mission will end as Archimonde advances on the Elf base. He is just too damn powerful to stop with any army, you barely deal any damage to him. Keeping max number of Hippogryph Archers is a must, otherwise you will lose. I saw Texture3d's video, that is damn impressive. Archimonde can be killed, but takes a ridiculous amount of damage. I didn't know Malfurion too reduced damage, somehow? I did notice him being more durable, but don't know what mechanic that is.
