Ware is a historic market town in Hertfordshire, England. The town is located on the River Lea, just north of London. Ware's history dates back to the Roman era, and the town has many well-preserved historic buildings. The most notable is the 12th-century Ware Priory, a former Augustinian monastery that now houses a museum. Other highlights include the 15th-century Church of St Mary the Virgin, the Old Court House Museum, and the remains of Ware Castle. Ware is also home to a number of traditional pubs and restaurants.
