My theory of how eternalism will be applied in the future is that duviri (the shadow realm from the duviri paradox trailer and where "NW spoiler" has been since the zariman-ten-zero incident) is a plane of existence between realms created by choices and because the operator made a deal with devil (of sorts) in this plane, that's where "NW spoiler's" zariman came into existence

I also want to throw in the Fermi Paradox, which tries to explain our cosmic isolation (as in no alien contact) and states that all life must pass through an evolutionary barrier that determines whether a species is allowed to flourish or doomed to extinction, and it's unclear whether or not humanity has crossed this barrier. If humanity has, then our seeming loneliness in the cosmos means we're one of a handful, if not the only species, to cross and survive. If we haven't, then our loneliness means none has passed this barrier and we're on put to the test of literally cosmic proportions. Now... let's say this barrier is literal. A wall. What if the Void is the next step as a species to evolve? The Orokin have basically mastered most if not all reality can offer: total control of energy and matter, immortality, interstellar travel, terraformation, etc. They have achieved mastery of everything. But what about mastery over "nothing"? The Orokin have only a basic understanding of the Void, and barely harnessed its true potential (Warframes and Void-based travel being the seeming pinnacle of this understanding). But this nothingness is alive, for in the Void, nothing is everything. And from nothing, breathes infinite potential since it's not bound to laws of reality. If you're going to achieve a trancendance, you'll first have to pass through and embrace nothingness and entropy. The Tenno have made the first steps with their deal with the Man in the Wall and adopted Eternalism in their very being as well as the ability to harness some of the Void's power. Now, can you survive in the Void, with its own rules, now that you've seen what it can do to reality? You have harnessed a fraction of nothing. Are you willing to accept and embrace nothing? The wall is testing you, and its enjoying watching you try like little ants. tl;dr: The Duviri Paradox is the Warframe equivalent of the Fermi Paradox. The Man in the Wall is a literal barrier that stands in the way of humanity as a species to ascend reality and ascend oblivion. To become gods, you need to master everything and nothing.

I really like this theory
@Mooseamation
@Mooseamation 2 жыл бұрын
I always thought the "Man in the Wall" was an entity that represents the focal point of all choices, or the paradox that all actions or lack thereof are a choice. The Void itself being connected to all places and things, to have the ability to supply power yet drain it, implies the Orokin simply learned how to control choices from other places. But Being an entity of choice, yet never being able to make any choices, might make you a bit bored. You don't exist on a physical plane, only a plane of "energy". So when you have a ship enter your form, almost ploped into your lap, you find someone who may give you the choice you want, but through the only way you know how. A Choice. And in doing so, attempt to create a conduit through which void energy can flow. But not everything goes to plan, free will, yada yada yada. But then come the warframes, surrogates designed to channel the Energy of the Void in extremely unstable amounts, with no directive of their own. In our experience in game, a concious has always stood between complex functions and pure void energy. Umbra, our Operator, Lotus, whatever you can think of, all of it required a 3rd party input. Except In the second dream, when your Warframe acts on it's own. The Warframe, having no input of it's own, acts as a well for Void energy. But While the void still wants something, to say a physical influence on choice instead of a simple observation stand, It cannot prevent choices. But where there is no choice, it may be able to choose to step in. In stopping Hunhow from killing us (The Operator) it set in motion the path we ended up going on, towards the Chains of Harrow quest. When that happened, however, we chose to free him, while destroying the Surrogate. The Man in the wall cannot stop choices made by the void, or rather It cannot control what choice it's energy is used for. Which may be the end goal overall. Or maybe I'm just crazy and read into things too much idk.

If Ballas created an "second" orokin empire, what the stalker thinks about it? Would he have not joined Ballas? Why the stalker is still very aligned with hunhow? The blue kuva the sentient stealed from the unum tower were just in that murex that exploded or the sentient now have "reproduction" capabilities again? Lotus now have control of the majority of the sentient faction? And why Ballas gave us the paracesis? To manipulate us into killing the lotus once she was not needed anymore? To forge a weapon to kill her that he could forge himself? 6:54 Notably, we have also sometimes been called Gods or similar terms, for example Teshin called us Gods in one of the New War Trailers. Sentients could also certainly be seen as Demonic so maybe it's something along the lines of the Tenno and Sentients being kindof Yin and Yang, light and dark, opposites that need each other and who is what just depends on perspective. Notably, as you mentioned, the Void is inverted, so maybe we are Gods in one World and Demons in the other, while it's the other way round for Sentients?

This is all incredibly useful since for the whole quest I got stuck on thinking WHAT Tennos could be...here's my thoughts: In this quest DE established there IS a multiverse, so all those rules should apply. Thinking about it and seeing how we get our powers after grasping the hand of our other self, Tennos are substantially an oxymoron. Being ALL existng in the same body BUT ALSO in their respective universes. They also mantain the memory of every version of themself but only when the boy grows in age...this would explain both how the drifter knows of Duviri and he also knows how to get his powers back "when the time is right". In fact when Ordis says "It would be useful to have that Tenno Magic right now" the Drifter replies with "Yeah, but I dont have it. Or rather, I don't have it...yet.". He KNOWS he would have lost his powers but around THAT TIME in the prime reality the Zariman Accident was happening. It's hard to describe, but to put it blandly: Every reality exists at the same time but every reality has his OWN time. This is more or less my personal brain fart on the matter.
@NeroCM
@NeroCM 2 жыл бұрын
I feel like rather than the typical multiverses seen in comics, we should see this as an interactable version of the Many Worlds interpretation of Quantum physics. The many world interpretation, in the most basic way possible, says that whenever a possibility is "chosen" the other possibilities are also chosen in other worlds. So, when you have to pick between eating an apple or a pear, there will be one world where you eat the apple, one where you eat the pear and one where you eat neither. Going deeper into it, you realise that when you say "choice" it's actually every single detail that could be different. In one world you were born a boy, in one a girl, in one you were never born... there will be infinite worlds where the only difference is what pair of socks you've put on this morning, all the way to worlds where you're dead because someone decided to cross a red light and hit you with a car. The difference is that, in real life, this theory declares it impossible for the worlds to interact. If you buy a lottery ticket and it's not the winner, you can't access the world where you won. In Warframe, you can. Specifically to New War when you shake the hand of MitW you see other versions of you going crazy because of the void and one of you surviving with your mind intact. Then you see another version of you who wasn't rescued and instead remained on the Zariman (and offers you sushi in what has to be one of the cutest scenes I've seen in this game).
@Baradiele
@Baradiele 2 жыл бұрын
@@NeroCM Yeah, a way more "in depth" explanation of the infinite universes theory but that's almost what I meant. BUT rather than seeing the many versions of you going mad and all, I think it's the many versions coming litterally in contact with one another and so this could explain the "power" of the tenno. Being many but all one in every universe.
@spamhere1123
@spamhere1123 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, and it's also the explanation of why the Tenno are _unkillable,_ but not truly _immortal._ Tenno have literally infinite lives. An infinitely dense infinite, like the total amount of real numbers infinite. For every time we get hit by a bullet and get "killed", there's a version of us that stepped slightly to the left instead of the right and that bullet missed, with no other difference in our entire history, and we can just "be" that version of ourselves. However, we age. We know Rell knew he would die of old age eventually. All versions of ourselves do, as far as we know. So we aren't immortal, merely unkillable. Thing is, we also have two, previously completely separate and un-interactable, branches of our own personal multiverse--the point in time where we had to answer a yes or no question that changed our very nature: to take the deal--or not. Those two choices formed two entirely separate and uncrossing multiverses of us, until the Drifter found a way to cross over. I also think it no coincidence that he/she was able to do so only after our operator was "banished back to hell" by Ballas. How was this possible? Not sure. But I found it interesting.

Think someone may have mentioned this already, but my theory is that the location of duviri paradox is a combination of every inverse choice made or not made by each Individual. Tenno saved. Tenno not saved. Which is why our drifter was there, cause he was the inverse of tenno saved. Furthermore, I think the void is a collection of all possible "duviris" for lack of a better term. Lastly, i think the man in the wall is trying to bring the inverse choices into the "canon" world, or achieve a physical form. This is why everyone who ever enters the void willingly or unwillingly, sees a copy of themselves, as the man in the wall exists in every "duviri" but outside every "duviri" at the same time. But this is mostly speculation. I have always been heavily invested into the lore of every game i play, and warframe has further peaked my curiosity. Regardless, i am excited for Warframe's future

I'm curious about the stylistic choice of the Wall at the end. The head looks like the helmet of the Dax soldiers, which leads me to suspect the Orokin (a very art first, function after society) wanted their agents and soldiers to remind them, or others, of the figure in the wall. Maybe in the same way Winged Hussars wore wings to evoke a furious angelic motif? My personal theory is that we are the man in the wall. That through eternalism we basically "go back" and help ourselves on the road to eventually become the Mitw and from there towards some kind of final objective. Would be fun if eventually we could get the choice of going all in into the Void or pull back and fight the Void, but DE seems to be allergic to permanent choices.
@sarahnade8663

I believe that to be the case as well but with a slight difference. In my theory, when a living creature enters the void, the void enters them as well and manifests as this entity that is the man in the wall. What makes the Tenno different from everyone else however is that handshake, the fact we agreed to accept the void into us and thus formed a permanent bond with it.

During the flashback scene in the classroom, the quiz question that asked which of the two parents survived (the answer being both, just in different timelines due to eternalism) got me thinking about the implications that eternalism has on one of the biggest events in the warframe lore - the execution and subsequent collapse of the Orokin Empire. The mere existence of the drifter, being the version of you that was not rescued from the Zariman ship, could imply that there exists a timeline without the tenno - without the warframes... which would mean that there is a timeline(s) that exist where the Orokin Empire never fell. I don't know if this is something that DE would explore, but I have a feeling that they wouldn't introduce something like eternalism without considering how it would impact things in Warframe's past as well as the present. There's so many possibilities that DE could explore with this concept, and I hope that if they do that they'll take their time and really flesh it out.

its shown wally was pushing the operator on this path, such as replying "good" when it appears that umbra's painful and hateful memories of ballas have comingled with the operator's memory, and setting shadow-lotuses on the operator in some of the pre new war sequences. ballas' vitruvian logbook was key in the sacrifice quest, now a warped sort of vitruvian man image appears when ballas is slain. there are various characters who could be considered to have been sacrificed in the sacrifice quest, umbra's son, umbra himself, but now ballas may have lived up to being a sacrifice.

As the Void is seemingly a timeline nexus of sorts, this could explain why people fear the Tenno more than the Warframes. You kill something with a timeline beam, deleting them from the weave in ALL timelines. That realization would obviously terrify all, even the Orokin.

When you think about what the Requiem words translate to, they're all things we'd think of as fairly fundamental aspects of reality - time, form, light, etc. Imagine "Reality" as existing at the point where these aspects 'meet', and in order to exit Reality you need to pass through a (conceptual?) wall, such as the "Wall of Lohk" (the boundary between Reality and the Void). When Albrecht passed through that wall, perhaps he attracted the attention of some entity from beyond that, when it sought to enter Reality (curiosity? Hunger?) and failed, got struck in the boundary - thus being a "Man in the Wall". Or perhaps his (unprotected?) entry *created* the entity in question - a kind of echo of himself... something like the shadow in the book "Wizard of Earthsea". Perhaps then each Tenno has their own 'echo' - those echoes aren't actually some manifestation of the Man in the Wall, but are similar in nature. Thinking carefully about it, Rell describes the Man in the Wall, and spent his life attempting to keep it out of Reality... but we don't actually know that the manifestation we occasionally see (and which speaks to us, possesses us at times) is the specific entity he speaks of. While certainly the Operator 'echo' on top of the wall with a man in it might simply be a dual manifestation of the same entity, it might also be two different ones - one Albrecht's echo, trapped in the wall, and one the Tenno's.

I don’t think the Man in the Wall replace Albrecht. When Albrecht went into the Void, he fucked up. His bell broke through the walls of the Void so to speak. What I got out of it is that Albrecht didn’t just go into the Void, but he went into some sort of deeper corner of the Void where the Man in the Wall was trapped. Albrecht’s experiment set him free of that and into the “normal” Void so to speak.

I welcome the note that more people are interested in the lore now, it would be good to discuss and theorize stuff. So here's a wall of text from the top of my head: Based on the "posession" theory, my say on it is with Wally's "movement", the giant figure slowly moves backwards, then "jumps" and vanished forward, as if hopping into the Lotus. As for why? My guess is that the dimensions are so different, that Wally is just obsessively curious about the normal realm(s) of existence, and would want to come through to experience or even conquer them, maybe even convert our reality to the void. It is also why (for me) all the representation of the void and Wally is like a primordial being trying to understand humanity/lifeforms in general (the distorted humanoid figures in the Zariman trying to get in, and the also distorted figure of the "wall" version, that might be modelled on Albrecht's appearence). Speaking of Albrecht, what if the "wall" version of Wally was his kind of original first form, that got "walled in" as a sort of safety mechanism, when his finger got chopped, to avoid "bleeding out"? He assumed a partial appearence of Albrecht (there's no upper face because of the orokin mask Albrecht was wearing, and the wavy, tentacle-like ornaments on the upper face parts is similar-ish to the general chaotic void state of the matter onboard the Zariman, as a sort of "substitute"). Lotus also looks at her hand both after closing the portal, and when put onto her pod, might be just because the power spent and the massive strain she endured to close the portal, or maybe a brand that scarred her, as another deal with Wally, or even the mark where a fraction of Wally posessed her. Also interesting how the "kid" on top of the wall is a mix of both the tenno/drifter, and Lotus, going back to the theory of the being outside of normal dimension trying to understand other lifeforms with imitating them. But I'm really curious about, are those giant mechanical serpents who roam the void (loading screens in voidstorm railjack missions, and Duviri). Are they from a parallel timeline where Albrecht wasn't ridiculed and the serpents are abandoned drones, built to explore the void, without sacrificing orokin lives or something else?

Doubt it. DE writers aren't super smart. Would've definitely thought they would've gone at least the Schrodinger's Cat route. It's like someone briefly read eternalism and didn't take any time to comprehend it before writing about it, because it never said anything about "all possible futures and pasts are real" but simply that past present and future are real. The game did get the idea that eternalism is the opposite of presentism correct though.

I'm putting on my history hat for this one - everything you hear about Vitruvian man and its symbolism is almost always straight BS. The drawing was accompanied by a text by Da Vinci explaining what it was, and the text boils down to "this old Roman guy Vitruvius described proportions of human body, I did some measurements and recorded them". It has no relation to squaring the circle (that whole thing is about finding a solution to area of circle that doesn't use a constant with infinite decimal places), what Vitruvius says is that a man should fit inside both a square and a circle, which is a different problem. For the whole mystical symbolism, there was and is a host of people who decided to ascribe some sort of magical meaning to various artists, and Da Vinci is pretty popular. Just look at the absolutely buck wild claims about him Dan Brown makes in his book. They have about as much substance as the theories that claim the Queen of England is a lizard (she's clearly a lich). The whole heirarchy of universe is a real historical thing, it just has no relation to Vitruvian man. That does bring up an interesting point, though. Sure, all those symbolism theories are BS historically speaking, but Warframe isn't reality. If DE got taken in by some of them, or if they just thought some of them sounded cool, they could well be real in Warframe-verse.

When we see Lotus and the Tenno confront Erra on Lua, Lotus and the Tenno all show up with red eyes. For the Tenno, this signifies we are under the MITWs influence, we have never seen Lotus's emissive light to change colour or even shift depending on her mood. I think Lotus is some sort of marriage between Natah and MITW, they both are coded as Mother and father figures (Lotus is more-so our mother after the New War) and that confrontation between Erra and the Lotus seems to be their first interaction since her transformation. The MITW dos not seemed concerned for us and only wants us to deepen our void powers, especially our little interaction after completing the Sacrifice

The reasone why is cause of other realities exist and the evedence was between the operator and the drifter. I have a feeling that maybe this isn't the first time it happened to the tenno but it happened to other tenno in other realities where they get manipulated into this thing through a proficy or writing by some higher form. This might lead to all of this going there where this man was first found as a prison like reality. Cause of it being a reverse reality it could mean there is no life and its a prison designed to drive someone crazy till they die.

Wally as Big Momma Lotus will be a severe subtle threat to us - she was already weak due to being dead (and getting better) before Wally turned up, then held off Wally until he charged and possessed her. She had a body, but was mentally weak while Wally was mentally strong, but had no body of his own in reality, so he attacked her and matched his strength and weakness to her weakness and strength (Duality and the Void - everything has its equal and opposite) For me, the proof is all the Deimos lore, the Void lore and the smirk that Lotus shows at the end - it isn't a smile of pride or exhaustion that you would expect after holding off a powerful being and shutting the portal it was trying to use, it was a smirk of a plan succeeding and nobody being the wiser. Also the inversion from the Second Dream was a nice touch. Lotus carries us to our chair where we sleep and possess beings to do our will compared to us carrying the Lotus to her chair, where she is possessed and used to carry out Wallys will.

ty for reading my comment on the previous video :D The vitruvian man relation, in the interpretation that wally infiltred lotus mind in how the final scenes played, may have more to tell: the famous vitruvian man drawing was made by Da Vinci, yes, but it was a presentation of the roman engineer Vitruvius principles (also other people drawed vitruvian mans during renaissance). In Da Architectura (the first ever architecture book), Vitruvius states that every edification needs to have: utilitas, firmitas and venustas (utility, strength and beauty). May sound weird or unralatable why architecture would have anything to do with philosophy of existentialism, but mathematical and geometrical aproach was a common ground in the matter as it can be seen in the golden ratios for beauty, pitagorism and etc. So, what's special about this? You see, may sound very stretched out but there is a character that fits the vitruvian "requirement": Lotus is the utility, Natah is the strength and Margulis is the beauty. If there is really anything on this, it would sugests that the lotus now is an "prefered" or "eligible" vessel, if she is not already one. Previous lore bits in chains of harrow/war within sugests wally needs a type of vessel to "cross" the wall: as rell became corrupted and acted as wally itself and how he likes when operator drinks the kuva (the very thing used to dominate our mind by the elder queen) and despises when he reject it. I did not came across the Vitruvius principles correlation myself, read somewhere else and found very intuitive.

Albrecht didn't die and cannot die. He was given Oro during his trip to the void just like the tenno. Like the tenno, Albrecht cannot be killed under normal circumstances and I assume he is also ageless. If we ever meet him I don't think he will look as old as a grandfather should. And if you want proof he has Oro, listen to the Ris part of his story again. He describes how he bled kuva from his head, "a profane vapor" that was also scintillating (sparkling)-- aka the black kuva mists that sparkle red during the kiva missions. Kuva comes from those with Oro. We know he didn't have Oro before his trip to the void because he had previously relied on the whole Yuvan Continuity ritual process like the other orokin. Albrecht says he won't take the kuva and continue with Continuity but the plot twist is he doesn't need it: He's ageless and deathless. Mother hints that he's alive down in the ruins and I'm convinced he actually is. I think anyone with Oro is both alive and dead at all times under the eternalism stuff explained to us. The operators I think would be the dead version that was rescued while the drifters would be the still living and still void-trapped version. During the handshake scene in the new war, we see versions of the operator dying. I think that was us getting our Oro.

One lore question that reeeally bugs me is prime warframes. If warframes were formerly people (orokin or not) that were products of mutation by a version of the infestation, then wouldn't that make every warframe unique? For example, canonically, is there only one Rhino prime, only one excalibur umbra (from what I seem to understand, Excalibur Umbra is the original excalibur) etc? If yes, then what were the Archons? Where did they come from? A parallel universe perhaps? I would also love to learn more about the past lives of warframes before they became what they are now.
