So proud to have been part of this project, and pleasantly surprised that the artists got mentionned, thank you!! I've sculpted all the weapons for Warsaw uprising, as well as the Kubus and the motorcycle! So good to see this project still talked about years later!

Excellent reporting. For those interested in The Warsaw Uprising of 1944 in 28mm it's worth checking out other 28mm ranges who do armed civilian figures of that era. Empress Miniatures Spanish Civil War range contain quite a few suitable minis (including female combatants) and Artizan Miniatures 'Pulp' range also have a lot of miniatures that fit the Warsaw Uprising. (Both of those ranges, to my little eye, look like they'd sit nicely beside Infamous JT's specifically sculpted minis in terms of 'look' and scale.) Several companies who do plastic 28s in kit form also do 'generic' partizan/armed civilian sets. For those who enjoy 'kit bashing' (in plastic, obviously) it's interesting to 'chop and swap' between various 'plakky' box sets in order to replicate Polish Home Army combatants. (Basically the Home Army used German and civilian uniforms/clothing for the most part, with non-German stuff like puttees, some 'Red Army' looking stuff, Polish military headwear, Adriane helmets, etc.) Great that Gerry pointed out that Infamous JT have a throughly excellent painting guide on their site. Even if The Warsaw Uprising isn't your glass of vodka, the guide contains some useful 'generic' painting tips for 28mm minis. xx SF

Great show guys, I've been considering using Warlords Landsknecht starter set and getting a head start on an empire army.... or fireforge and Oathmarks Dwarves.

I absolutely love that there's a Polish home army range that's so high quality and detail now. My only big complaint with it though is the severe lack of rifle poses. Only 4 total, and they're spread across packs. Rifle Pack 1 and Pack 2 have 2 rifles and an LMG team, which complicates buying these to make an army. So, for gaming purposes, as they are currently packed, you likely get stuck with a ton of LMGs you can't use. As they are now, they're actually quite hard to make a force for Bolt Action and similar games with that are a little more demanding of WYSIWYG. Seems like a big oversight, IMO. I'd recommend to the creator that the LMG teams go into their own pack, rifles into their own pack, and that an actual second pack of only rifle armed Poles be done to fill out the range.

if I remember correctly the way the moulds have been made makes the packs fairly fixed, it would be great if he gets back to them at some point to expand the range but in the meantime I bulked my squads with a box of Wargames Atlantics Partisans

Hey :) This range is actually quite old :) The KS was 5ish years ago. It wasn't an oversight. They are this way for a few reasons, I thought I would give you an insight below. - Making miniatures is VERY expensive, I was on part-time min wage when I did these. My intention was a passion project :) I knew from the get go I would be limited in the number of figures I can produce, this problem is made worse by tacking a niche subject that would not sell in numbers (like Germans or Brits would) . Therefore I focused on iconic elements of the Uprising, such as the partisan made SMGs, Kubus, PIAT, older LMGs, etc. I knew that people who wanted to field armies would have to use miniatures from other companies in the same scale (there are tons of options for these, but not for iconic elements of the Uprising). In this way they could use my models to theme an army of partisans. Wargames Atlantic Free French for example are a good scale to mix with these, as are any partisan figures from Warlord, and I see a lot of people convert metal WLG SS to make additional Grey Ranks troops that scale well. - This was made before the WLG list, which is severely lacking in SMGs, even with the FAQ correction. I worked briefly for WLG when the list was written and sent feedback about the issues (no AT rifles, no BARS, no softskins, no SMGs at all, etc). They only FAQed the SMGs. I (wrongly) assumed there would be a unit fully equipped with SMGs. - Packs are based on mould efficiency and layout. As its a niche range that will never sell massive numbers, reorganizing packs is simply not possible as it would require new moulds, etc. - The sculptor no longer sculpts 28mm wargames figures, so for this reason I can no longer expand this range without changing the aesthetic (no two sculptors sculpt alike).
