No doubt, the default Warhammer's an excellent jack-of-all-trades, so long as you're not looking for speed or indirect fire, and can resist the urge to alpha strike. Personally, I'm a big fan of mechs with overlapping weapons brackets, because even though you might have an ideal range for hitting with all your stuff, you can still do fine outside of that narrow band. If I ended up with one though, I'd probably want to remove the small lasers and MGs for a flamer or two (because infantry is a thing), kinda like the Liao variant but with an additional ton or two for heat sinks and leg armor. I normally don't want to get close enough for point-blank weapons unless I'm driving a punchy mech.

The 6R Warhammer is an overgunned Heavy 'Mech with an armor of a medium and thus BV price of an expensive medium. It usually draws a lot of fire and gets your opponent to either close in or get LRM rained down on it. Getting an opponent too close is dangerous for the Whammy. It's crucial weakness is the armor distribution focuses on protecting its arm PPCs and makes its leg armor weak in comparison. You do not want brawlers to get into kicking range. I prefer to use it as a sniper/fire support role then push up only when the brawlers are in trouble or there are targets that needs to be mopped up. You don't have the heat sinks to operate all the weapons like the Stalker, so it is best to stay at the primary PPC bracket until forced to change. When positioning, I prefer to be parked behind a level 1 ridge to keep its legs safe (watch for other 'Mechs getting up on the hill though to kick your head in!) or in water you can use the leg heat sinks to cool off and keep both PPCs firing. The later also needs to be done in short bursts as the torso armor is also somewhat too weak to keep you there. P.S The WHM-6D variant dropping all the missiles and machine guns for more heat sinks and armor is one best 3025 anti-Mech Heavy 'Mechs and a very tough monster.

The Warhammer is my favorite mech. Some players including myself do not play it that well starting out. If they do what your talking about. It is going to be easier on the learning curve. This mech is recommended for anyone. It teaches the basics of heavy mech play as the Warhammer works against all types of targets. Over armed medium mech. I have to agree with that. Take some risks get partial cover and hope your head stays intact as you remember the machine gun ammo could get hit. Why do I recommend this mech. Its a team player for medium and low tonnage assault mechs.

Ah 'the Hammer', in my top 5 favourite 'Mechs, I don't much care for the base model -6R but give me any of the variants the -6D, -6K or even the -6L (burn baby, burn).

As a kid I would watch battlletech U. S harmony gold. With captain harloc. I would love to get my hand on this. How is it in comparison to the games workshop knight city battle set?
