The Volley (Nock) Gun was used by the Royal Navy (1782 - 1804) for ship-to-ship fighting but had a nasty recoil and reload time was too long. WA probably included it so gamers could build the Sharpe's Company unit from the British TV show "Sharpe". One of his men, Patrick Harper, used a Volley Gun (a gift from Sharpe) in the series.
