Just a small correction, and this is actually an issue that WGA hasn't addressed about their own product description yet despite it being pointed out to them, but that tripod mounted machine-gun is actually a Fiat-Revelli Modello 1935, not a Breda 37. This weapon was the infamous "knuckle buster" machine-gun, and an air cooled version of the previous M1914 model that served through World War I. The biggest change from the 1914 to 1935 models was the feeding mechanism, going from this.... big, dumb needlessly complex box of several 5 round clips that hampered rate of fire to proper belt feeding.

Hi Wolfe, thanks for your quality input here...much appreciated. I think the model definitely seems to share characteristics of both weapons ( cross-pollinated perhaps?) on the model of the MG itself and on the tripod too.. very interesting point and well presented- thanks! Love your attention to detail, and thanks for your feedback! Kind Regards, Dan.
@wolfehoffmann2697

@@ValhallaGames I can partly agree on "cross pollination" except as a gun guy, I'd call it "lazy" and "incorrect." It has a Breda 37-styled receiver in that it's flat front to back, lacking the exposed ledge where the F-R Mod 35's bolt travels back outside the weapon, but the barrel, the big box that fits to the side, the iron sites, etc... basically everything else about it's detailing is Fiat-Revelli 1935. The biggest thing it's missing to even resemble a Breda from a distance is the left-hand clip feed tray. Because Breda was obsessed with this garbage feature on all it's machine-guns for some reason. It's the one real historical detail mistake with this box, not the helmets like so many initially believed looking at preview images. Otherwise, the only other things wrong with the kit are the same issues all their kits suffer. Integral bases on plastics, which are unnecessary and just create more busy work for those of us who use putty/spackle/whatever to hide them on a normal base, and the stupid, terrible neck/head joint design that should be a ball joint like Warlord, GW, Mantic, Victrix and basically everyone else commonly does.

Why are the uniforms WWI French uniform colors, rather than the olive greenish color Sir?
@ValhallaGames
@ValhallaGames 2 жыл бұрын
@@ricocorrea3404 Hi Rico, good question. Ive gone for the cotton fatigue uniform rather than the olive green wool uniform, as this was the only uniform the majority of the coastal divisions in Sicily were equipped with, and I'm playing most of my games within Sicily with this particular army. The colour is greys, but the lighting pushes it in the occaisional image/vid slightly toward a blue. Thanks for your question, hope that answers that one for you. Regards, Dan

An excellent review, Dan. I completely spaced on the KickStarter! I'll go through the links here in a bit. Looking forward to more on the project as it goes forward.

Such a good review. Can you remember what that grey blue colour is you used to paint them.
@ValhallaGames
@ValhallaGames 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks very much- glad you found it useful! Yes- they were sprayed with Army painter uniform grey and then washed liberally with Citadel Nuln Oil, from there layered up with VMC Basalt grey in the shadows and Basalt grey was mixed with increasing amounts of Army painter Uniform grey for highlights until straight uniform grey was used for the highlights. I think its the arid basing and greens that help to pull the little bit of blue in these colours of grey. Hope this is usefu; and you enjoy painting your figures- let us know how you got on! @@ValhallaGames Yeah, of course I really enjoied the video, and sorry if I didn't said it! If I can dare to offer you a source about model M33, I put here the link to an interesting old document filmed by the Italian Army to present the model M33 to the public and announce its adoption in place of the Adrian model used during WW1, I hope it may help in explaining my humble point of view, sorry for the Italian in the video but in practice they say that the new helmet is better in every respect, even though at first it may look .. ugly! ; ) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3-snYuCjbSWoKM

@ValhallaGames
@ValhallaGames 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thanks for watching and your feedback- always appreciate it. I would say the helmet shape has definitely been one of the areas that the kit has the most concerns from the potential audience. I thought that the washes and highlights did a much better job of picking out the curvature and the rim than some people had felt, judging by feedback id seen initially. Still some question marks on the shape remain, my point was purely that the 3/4 view we were getting from the box images were appearing to some that the rim curvature went up at the ear, so as we can see here, that isnt a concern viewers needed to have any longer with the profile view we can see on the vid-after that its up to the buyer to decide. One of the many positives about the kit is the ability to fit regular troops with soft hats ( if you find that acceptable for your force/theatre) or take the specialist troops head dress options within. I really appreciate you giving your opinion on it though, thanks for that and tuning in to watch-appreciate it! Kind Regards, Dan.

@@ValhallaGames If you look at a M33 helmet it's a V shape on the side. The WGA miniature is a shallow inverted V on the side. None the less you're a classy guy. All the best!
