It's a bit of a hard balance to manage, the armour is heavy and basically makes the marine a tank but at the same time, a space marine is extremely fast and agile with the power armour on even

The thing is, as long as the armor has power from its backpack, it shouldn't look heavy, as the movement is integrated with the Marines thoughts through the Black Carapace and the motors in the armor enable free movement. It would be a bit more appropriate for Terminator armor, as that is much heavier and bulkier, but not for standard power armor.

The main thing I'm loving about this, after our best boy Titus coming back, is we finally get to see a green Imperial world in close angle. Iirc, every 1st and 3rd person 40k game has been on a forge world, so all drab greys and browns. Nice to see some lush greenery.

(Fuck you Leandros!) Upon returning to the chapter would have been found guilty of causing the chaos incursion due to his laps in judgement and thus is demoted.

Looks really good…if I have to nitpick I’d say I’d love to see something other than Ultramarines (imagine Black Templars or Blood Angels ffs) but honestly it’s logical to continue Titus’ story. I am stoked…Darktide is really good so hopefully we come into a streak of good 40k titles for a change. It’s been a rough few years lol.

They could have different sized maps as a bit of a workaround for different game types. Close in maps for a frenetic arena fps feel, further apart maps to encourage the people on each side move and act as a more organized team.

Invulnerability during finishers are the standard in action games because without it, players wouldn't have much incentive to do so especially if the animations take as long as it does in Space Marine 1 with no way to cancel it. Even difficult hack-and-slash games like Elden Ring gives invulnerability when doing a finisher move

nah not having invuln made it a decision. it was an important mechanic, are you open enough to regen or will you lose more than what you get? it made you have to finish enemies without being able to execute each one. it made the game more varied and somehow, more natural.

Enemies are just sitting there, while nids tactics is to be literal bioball that floods the area with bodies over running any and all opponents. Gameplay looking Hype. Looks like they're actually adding a bit more depth to the melee system (I saw that parry against that Warrior), as well as some more fluid dodging. Also, being able to use ranged weapons on the jump pack is also great. Cant' Wait!

That looked fucking cool. Being able to use the jetpack to hover in place is what I always dreamed of. Instead of just blasting off like a rocket you can now hover in place like a VTOL aircraft like the Harrier Jumpjet. The parrying looks sweet too, I wanna see how that pans out in multiplayer versus.

@@NoahDaArk Yeah I figured it could be used in both ways. I wonder if there's a fuel system. Hovering in place and moving slower in the upright position uses less fuel, blasting off and accelerating head first (flying around like superman) uses more.

If Jump Packs do have a fuel system, launching into the air should consume less fuel since it just needs to propel a Space Marine UP. The hover mode however would use up more fuel because now that thing’s gotta keep a 800 pound demigod SUSPENDED in the air while he headshots some dipshit Tyranids

I'm incredibly excited for this but one thing does concern me... This is the gameplay trailer and the only enemies (aside gargoyles in the intro cutscene) that we have been shown we can fight against are warriors and hormagaunts. I would have thought if they had a carnifex boss fight or something they would tease it a little in the gameplay trailer. I'm sure the game will release with a great amount of content but I am worried it will launch with a level of content that falls short of Space Marine 1. After all, that did have you fight TWO races and this game appears to only have one so they either need a lot of variety to live up to the first game. Still, my excitement won't go away - I'm sure they have something up their sleeves.

Tbf tho even if they decided not to have a 3rd party, tyranids have sooo many variants and types they could probably carry the game themselves. Like imagine a final boss being a hive tyrant or something like that.

Was gonna say, that was the only thing I was miffed at. That gameplay shown could be on easy mode though. So long as they make a super hard difficulty mode that has proper swarming for the Tyranid AI then we should be good to go.

Yeah, I’m gonna be pissed if they don’t have very similar and balanced PvP and PvE… SM1 would have done better giving everyone the expansion maps for free and adding a handful more PvE maps that the 2+1 they have. SM1 is still a game worth playing and balanced well.

If there's a toggle to allow us to wear helmet all the way through in campaign I will be incredibly happy. Here's hoping for the best of this game, and that the multiplayer turns balanced and not a raptor flying plunge spam fest!

I developed a tactic called the Drop and Lock for my Devastator. Drop a frag at your own feet when you see them about to dive at you, brace the heavy bolter and laugh as their shield and health get shredded by the frag while yours sponges it nicely.

I am Not Sure how You would do a Guard Game similar to something like Space Marine but I would love one too, or even a Tyranid Game. Similar to the Alien Parts In the Alien Vs Predator Games just well Enhanced I suppose and I think that would be a great Game.

Given how Chaos showed up as a surprise enemy in the first one, what do you think will be this game’s equivalent? My hope is that it’s Necrons. The planet turns out to have tombs in it and the necrons wake up from all the fighting.

100% Chaos again. He still has unfinished business with Chaos and the Inquisition. After all, he got demoted to the lieutenant rank, and they definitely have to go over that.

Tyranids tend to avoid tomb worlds and this planet seems too populated with humans to be considered a tomb world; unlikely there's some Necron bases deep underground with thier forces still in stasis judging by how developed this planet is, which looks to be a hive planet, meaning massive development underground to accommodate human habitation. I wanna see Dark Eldar. A large raiding party makes a pit stop at the planet to fight some Ultramarines for sport.

@@dknighton100 honestly he’s kind of a cameo monster that shows up every now & then. People try to fight him, if they do mange to somehow Kill Him. He just comes back thanks to his regenerative abilities, and somehow ends up in a different location.
