As a fan of wh40k and a bit of a gun nut i have to say i'm absolutely blown away by the representation of the weapons. It's very easy to completely mess up the iconic boltgun or delivering an underwhelming volkite charger due to the lack of visual representaion. However pretty much every weapon is well executed and feels punchy, while fulfilling a nice role in the roaster. I also agree on making the meltagun a sort of shotgun like in "SPACE MARINE" despite being a bit less accurate lorewhise.

@Nonesovile96 Still going to use the term regardless as I don't really care if it was made as a slight to 1990s fps as I'm a millennial raised by Gen Xers so I could care less. Doom popularized the genre instead of creating it as even its predecessor, Wolfenstein, wasn't the first 90s shooter either, so you can't even call others like it a "Doom shooter". So tl;dr, I'll call it whatever is convenient to me, no slight intended unlike the Zennials reaponsible you mentioned.

I love that its not lore heavy. Its just using the atmosphere of 40k and putting you straight into the heavy and menacingly massive boots of just this one marine. The lady (i dont care much about names) in the beginning even mentions how she feels her concerns weren't priority since they send just you alone but clearly she underestimates the power of a sole imerial marine. This game just has me take a mission, go head first with my saw (Doom 2 style) and just start my onslaught. I just started this game and its an absolute delight of a game. I hope the devs do more stuff like this in the future.

I'm kind of in love with this game. The feel is amazing where every action has a weightiness to it. It perfectly replicates that Doom run and gun action, with some puzzle elements, but with an added modern sleekness. The environments are really faithful to the 40k aesthetic and the art style gives them so much more personality. I don't know if its the level design/graphics, or a mix of both, but they feel like I'm scaled sown exploring a really well made board. I really like the subdued but strong colours that can create a bleak look without feeling washed out too. The enemies also look great with this style, and its easy to see the devs have a true love for the 40k universe as things like having "contempt" power ups, reading scripture when idling, and having a servo-skull as a guide are great little touches. The taunt button is not needed at all but now I have it I don't want it to ever be taken away. The music is perfect and mirrors the 40k mechanicus tactics game with a mix of dark atmospheric synth music that progresses into more poignant synths with Gothic tones added on top. The only thing I want from this game now is more. It has me thinking about all the settings that could be used (surviving in catachan jungles, fighting dark mechanicus on mars...), and all their associated inhabitants and fauna. Not to mention all the different space marine factions that could be controlled and how they could have lore specific differences in how they play and their loadouts. Maybe even branch out to factions like the Sororitas (a level in a battlefield where churches are being dropped from the sky would be insane). I want all this to stay within how they designed this game though, and even if they bring a bit more customisation, as long as it remains true to what it went for with this game I think the potential of this series could be nearly unlimited. I really hope this game does well, it plays great and it has really immersed me in the 40k universe in a unique way, and I'm here for more of that
