What i always love about 40k lore is that it is always going forward unlike its similiar media counterparts like star wars halo etc. You actually feel like someone that is watching these events unfold at real time. It started as 40k. It became 41k and now its 42k.

GW just made themselves a "superman problem" as characters may go, since they turned Mephiston into such an unstoppable force they HAVE to put him always distant to the main conflicts, due to how insane he is, bending reality and etc, if they included Mephiston into every current battle, he would necessarily wipe the floor with 99% of the current enemies of the setting, so since they don't want holes in the script, he needs to be far away from anything relevant
