I always avoided this game because I knew it was a bit of a mess and probably wouldn't last...but damn, I should've tried it. There's no way some other company is not going to capitalize on a 40k online shooter. Done properly, and without all the weird management issues, this could have been huge.

Despite this game's broken promises and its issues, I had immense fun playing this game, to the point where even after many years I still get cravings to play it. I even consider it as one of my favourite games. It wasn't anything special, but damn were large battles chaotic and immersive. The melee combat was simplistic yet functional and did reward some skill even though it was rock paper scissors-esque. It was possible to 1v4 people in melee. Such a shame, the game could have easily been salvaged and improved upon.

Yeah. I really loved playing dem boyz. Space marines often took themseves too seriously and there were some toxic angry gamers just as in any other online game. But Orks... they were there if you wanna make some real fun and roleplay. Cheerfully commenting the slaughter in da proppa orky fashun and often still winnin' through the sheer power of bullshit. Trust it was a lot more jank than it appears here, it had plenty of flaws and terrible systems, that said it wasn't beyond saving. The developer team though, Behavior (dead by daylight/naughty bear) just overshot goals and didn't disperse their budget correctly. Had they launched a bit rocky with a better market system or battle pass the game definitely could've been fleshed out and saved. We should really go to the 40k reddit pages and keep up consistent petitions for another game like this or for private servers at the least . (Sorry for the monologue 😅, I like every 40k fan just want a good game that isn't space marine for once)

I might not have owned a founders pack but i did preorder it on steam and played it for over 80 hours. My memory was that it was a pretty unbalanced clunky bag of shit when you compare it to Space marine. Promised ideas of a planetside 2 game where f2p players would be the imperium of man and same sort of deal for the other races dashed. Lots of great potential lost. I'm glad others found it fun but man did it feel like i was ripped off. At least Darktide feels good to play and space marine 2 looks good so my faith in the machine god is renewed.

Да, помню игрулю, баланс там конечно мое почтение, абсолютно отсутствовал, играли только те у кого был Донат, и Эльдары-Хрен-Попадешь, со своими супер быстрыми и тонкими модельками. There is two different revival projects, one that has come a bit in the way even, so there are atleast some slim hope of a fan based revival of the game on private servers. Thats the good news. The bad news is that the revival team that has come the farthest are headed by the guys who added all the cheats/"mod" to the game which broke down any semblance of balance and also caused all the crashes that drove away alot of players. This however is just old footage.

players said it doesnt feel like 40k. feels like just another shooter. why? because they said, my space-marine got killed by an ork. Players wanted it like that space marine game. where a single space marine slaughters 1000 of ork before being killed. where a single space marine slaughter 100s of chaos marine before being killed. that was never going to happen. hence the game just died. 40k community is just not into competitive shooters.

This game... The grudge I have against it is immense. I was one of the earliest backers, and followed this project since the announcement of an mmo called "dark imperium", which Eternal Crusade was a spiritual successor to. Followed every community post and took the promises as gold. Back then I was too young to notice the red flags, like the project lead leaving or the studio having almost no experience producing games. I don't fault anyone for liking this game. But it is nothing like what was promised and I am sure this is the best the devs were capable of producing with the limitation on experience and finances. And ultimately it fell short on pretty much every expectation I had and it felt personal. I felt lied to. Never Pre-Order. Even if in the end you like the game.
