@@XUnsafeNormalX It is, I'm actually really surprised that that was what this was, I just saw the thumbnail and got super curious The game got done dirty, and after a poorer launch than what they were hoping for, they COMPLETELY and utterly abandoned this game with no hope of further support and content I've heard the community is small, but close knit. I played through the campaign and had a blast with the game when it first came out, I couldn't believe when they closed the doors on the development... Was so saddened to see what was most likely the end of the Dawn of War series :(

@@jybil178 The original creators at relic who had a totally thorough understanding of 40k lore and mechanics were all gone from relic. They had a bunch of corpo yes men telling greedy execs that the best way to monetize DOW3 was hybridize it with MOBAs because true RTS was dead, and that shorter player attention spans meant that they needed constantly flashing and explosions on screen at all times to keep people entertained. It was an abortion. glad that you liked it, but it felt like I had just flushed money down the toilet.

The 3 factions have a very distinct playstyle. The game was so close to being great. i wish they would have added Necrons and 1 other faction. i fear modders are not able to add factions of the same quality.

On a side note, there is an incoherence lorewise with this game as the knights are not used by space marins chapters but by humans of powerful houseson knight worlds 🤓 For those who are interrested, there is a book speaking about them « Assassinorum kingmaker » by Robert Rath which is quite good.

DoW Dark crusade style game but going to different worlds and taking over territories until the planet is conquered and allow people to choose and make there own chapters from all the different races as to give each player individuality in 40K would go hard AF

I'll die on the hill that the community and the publisher (Sega) are the ones to blame. Push MMO stuff? Like what? There are lanes and step-to-step objectives, but if you ever got into MOBAs (what I think you meant to say), you would know that they're nothing similar. In fact, they added old-school annihilation and it didn't do anything to help the situation. The community was just super toxic and Sega took it as a write-off, even tho it was the highest selling release of any DoW game ever. The game was sick, the lanes were sick, the gobs of shit constantly dying was sick, the commanders were sick, the mastery system was sick. This was peak DoW, and I've played since Winter Assault. I'm so sad that people can't get past themselves to try and pick up something with a twist.

While SM2 is great, the combat is not as satisfying as the one I felt in Darktide. The newer updates in Darktide has been incredible too (more skills, weapon customisations, maps etc).

Why do so many people hate this game? I know it doesn't capture the magic that DOW1 did, but it's not a "bad" game.

if there would be one day dawn of war 4 I would love to see whole "CP limit" gone. Or at least having it as option to turn off, given almost everyone has overkill PC for RTS games nowadays. Back in a day CnC 3 Red Alert/Tiberium wars had no CP and worked just fine, even despite that janky engine plagued with memory leaks it was there decade ago :D ....would be sick to imagine games in 40K with no limits on how many units you have
