as much as they say they may be secretly loyal, everything about their personality seems like its taken directly from the changer of ways. secret loyalist, chaos, horus, themselves, i think they dont even really know who they serve, and it probably changes constantly.

Great job. You could talk all day about the Alpha and we'd still be unsure about their true motives and loyalties. I tend to think they are double agents loyal to the emperor still.

188th like. I actually applaud their way of doing things. They redefine misdirection warfare. I'm betting if they didn't do things this way, there'd be (ironically) far more enemies of the Imperium and far more susceptible fools for Chaos to manipulate. AL pretty much ensured that everyone was kept on their toes, cause you never really know how & when they would strike. Imagine this terrifying prospect - What if the Alpha Legion were dedicated to Malice? If they were, they'd be a far graver threat than anything in the Galaxy, and if they TRULY turned to Chaos (Honestly doubt they did), they probably would have beaten the Imperium with laughable ease. What's pretty hilarious is that they APPEARED chaotic without a real purpose, but their tactics & efficiency were very well (and extremely) calculated. Making your enemy think you're doing this when you're really doing that is actually part of the Art of War by Sun Tzu. If you can greatly confuse your enemies and make it so they can't tell what you're really doing, and eventually to where they are jumping at shadows, you've already won, but the Art of it demands that you keep up the charade, encouraging the further decline of the psyche of your foe, cause just one misstep could lead to disaster. But it's even better when you can make it appear like you're losing, only to crush your foes at the height of their pride so you can tear it down into mere ashes; proving to them that they are nothing compared to your tactical skill. Most agents (IRL) struggle with being Double Agents, sometimes it's rare to even be a Triple or Quadruple Agent, as you are basically living out several different lives at once, pretending to be so many when you are really this or that, and at the end, these agents typically break because these alternate lives develop into actual personalities that behave as if they really do exist. In Apharius Omegon's case or even the Alpha Legion's itself, they are leading a Decuple (10) life, possibly even a Vigintuple (20) one. So, imagine being apart of a LEGION that mastered the Art of Deception, Misdirection, Subterfuge, and Counter-Infiltration. When you think about it, they are a legion of James Bonds in 40th millennium.

Maybe the carcarodons are a second funding chapter of the alpha legion? i know diffrent behavior. but both chapter travel indepententl in the outer systems.
