Its unsurprising that the imperium has a wide range of bunkers, gun platforms and quick build defences. They have raiders and war on every front, it would be a safe bet that even the most basic planetary colonization protocols include defence lines and hard points to keep the population safe. Given the time it takes for help to arrive through warp travel and that the imperium is typically holding or outright growing in size before the 13th black crusade it says that this stuff works well on all types of planets more often than not till the hammer if the emperor shows up to lift the siege.

Never enough fortification [3cp] You may declare 3 or more individual fortification models as a singular model & replace any terrain pieces on the battlefield. They must placed in formation where they are connected (i.e: no horizontal movement access). All Imperial fists gain +1 cover again. *************************** 1) Minimum legal range away from objective. 2) Put all devastators 3) Opponents face -_______-

I love how even the mass-produced strongpoints have all those superfluous... erm, I mean, holy reliefs, symbols and icons. Gotta have the right priorities, after all.
