Guardsman: "We spent three years and took 150% casualties to recover this STC. Tell me it was worth it. Tell me it creates something worth all of the nightmares." Tech Preist: "It is a blessing from the Emperor. You and the other survivors will be well rewarded by a grateful Imperium. We are not sure of its purpose or function but from what we can tell it is called the "Beach Ball." Guardsman: ...

It sounds like when ever a imperial faction finds a template they hide it. That is probably what is happening on Necromondo with the Imperial Fist.
@attila5357 жыл бұрын
You'd think the Emperor with his great foresight would have aquired a complete STC library before the age of strife.
@GrimDarkNarrator7 жыл бұрын
Maybe he wasn't able to at the time. After all, all the tech was scattered across the early "Federation of Planets".
@WynterLegend6 жыл бұрын
Yes. All tech. Ours, STCs, Invent new, Pillage Xenos tech (mostly Tau, Eldar, other lesser known Xenos). Then do my best to make it *look* Imperial, then put it in places it can be found. But always keep templates of my own, hidden, somewhere. And of course back alley dealings with Admech, Officio Assassinorum, and Inquisition respectively.
@ultramarinus24787 жыл бұрын
That was actually true, until "somebody" woke up Guiliman and started to produce superior design vehicles, powerarmours, guns and another equipment. Witouth STC backing.

Must be the 40k Illuminati.
@ultramarinus24787 жыл бұрын
I saw as iluminati the group of aliens, who tried to push Alpharion to the betraing of Emperor to Horus, for the greater good (destruction of chaos). But I was talking about Primaris space marines (themselves) and ESPECIALLY, their wargear.

Hopefully superior design warships follow. I would love some new goodies for Battlefleet Gothic and Rogue Trader even if my gaming groups will almost certainly have to house rule the stats.

So did the people of the Dark Age of technology have their own space marines? I ask because they invented power armor suits for super soldiers. If the tech was for normal sized humans then wouldn't the Imperial guard have their own power armor and such? The Imperium isn't that creative so if it was for normal people they managed to adapt it for space marines?
@GrimDarkNarrator7 жыл бұрын
The technology was probably adapted and modified for space marines, turning the suits into biological interfaces rather than just technological bits. Giving it to the imperial guard was probably cost-prohibitive. They could only make so many so why bother when you had millions of men willing to go and die in your wars with just flak armour.

The Dark Age of Technology was so far and beyond advanced in every way that the standard "gaurdsmen," would be beyond superior to astartes.

I've really gotten into your lore videos lately and I really enjoy them and appreciate your efforts. One critique I might add though is the quotes you put up in the intro needs to be a few seconds longer. That's all. Thanks.
@GrimDarkNarrator6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I'll take that into consideration. Problem is the music intros are all calibrated for a 20 second intro. Changing that would take my modifying of dozens of templates. I will try to shorten the first 2 screens and lengthen the quote screen by a couple of seconds if the quote is longer than average.

Unlike Earth, Mars never went through the Age of Strife as Earth did. I would assume Mars have already had the complete set of STC.
@TylerChristensen694202 жыл бұрын
They still had their shit kicked in for sure, but eventually regained their grip before Earth was found to be not salvageable. They used luls in the warp to reach out and create forge worlds and some STCs went with them. Then, Salesh was born, the Emperor did his thang and the rest is history.

I saw a theory that the Ark Mechanicus ships are STC's and they don't even know it, That would be a beautiful moment of grimdark if it was the case.

The concept of the STCs don't make sense to me. Why does it only have the blueprints to build the machine that builds the actual thing you need? Why not cut out the middleman and just have blueprints to build the actual tank etc.?
