Why would you not cast Withering on the unit in front of the Volley Gun?!

How are you getting heroes to fight in the second rank, last I checked heroes need base to base, means front rank. Also your front rank does not count towards rank it is full ranks after the front.

Can make supporting attacks from the second rank (max of 3 for Monstrous Infantry and 1 for normal infantry), and front rank doesn't count for rank bonus but does count for steadfast - we forgot that rule for long enough 😂

Forgot hatred and rerolling helblaster artillery side with engineer last time. Probably swing the game ogres way.

A few thoughts: I think you forgot hatred for the Archlector. Outriders are great, you just have to be ready to flee, rally, then shoot with that Fast Cavalry rule. They also work best in a team with other light troops, like hunters or pistoleers. Skirmish on a flank and overload with firepower. A unit of ten puts out a ferocious amount of shots on a narrow frontage. Halberdier hordes quite like the Lore of Light, Speed of Light especially. Doubly so with the Luminark on the board. Good game and well played by both players. The only thing I would change is to use the second unit of archers, one after the other, to divert the main Ogre unit. You can never beat that unit in fair fight, so delay and avoid it at all costs.

Thanks for the comments. Yup forgot hatred with the Arch Lector 🤦‍♂️ I like the BS4 on Outriders and the extra firepower, but think I just prefer the pistolliers. Plus new models so had to get them out even at a sub-optimal 5 man squad 😜 And good call with the archers too, though the plan with the second unit was a roadblock for the Ironblaster. The poor life of a peasant eh!
