The fur regrowth formula may have been a joke but I can totally see Ikit doing that. Skaven are vain little buggers and Ikit definitely has the brain power to make it work. Ikit is hands down my favorite Skaven. I hated playing as the rats in WH2 until the prophet and the warlock dlc. Ikit had the awesome workshop, he's practically a tank with magic, he gets a doomflayer or a doom-wheel and they introduced the under empire mechanic. Food was certainly easier to manage with that. Plus the doom sphere /kefka laugh "Mad? Mad? You squeak-say I am mad-mad? Yes-yes! Only mad-mad would make-bring the Doomsphere!’"

In all honesty the artist probably picked white as a colour to help clash with his armour. It helps the fleshy bits of him stick out and acts as a nice contrast. Would be a funny side story talking about how he actually made magic hair grower and the seers came up and said pull that shit again and will make sure you roast for eternity. 4th edition back in I want to say 2001 or so was when I found out about warhammer. This little amazing bastard and skaven in general got my interest and I have loved them since. The first mock fight I tried was some clan rats and a rattling gun, I rolled and rolled and rolled killing an entire unit of lizardmen then it malfunctioned and blew away the clan rats. So I’ve just got this idea in my head now for a series of short stories about a young Ikit having built himself a teleporting machine a la Doctor Who that just randomly takes him to different places around the world, only he can’t really control it. And the majority of the stories would involve his crazy interactions with people he meets in the places he ends up, maybe collecting/stealing necessary components from other Skaven to fix his machine so he can eventually return to Skavenblight

What i always loved about Ikits original rules was that due to his travels and knowledge of all magic, he could use all spells except waagh (because that’s generated by Greenskins). Can you imagine playing Skaven and being able to summon the undead? Fight Chaos and banish their demons with High Magic? One of the absolutely best skaven characters ^^ in aos his model represent the Arch (oh, the irony) Warlocks, leaders of the clans Skrire; Thanquol actually survived the mess of eot, being grabbed by the Horned One, and in one novel one particular skrire engineer have visions of a great past of a former life (I don't remember the details but it's implied that maybe a reincarnation of Ikit). HAS'HUT should be a 40k chaos god. Got the idea of the lore, a once God of Dark Mechanicus unseated by the Void Dragon and when recovered noticed his seat has been taken by a younger and stronger god.

And he resides in side a giant furnace on some super demon forgeworld, the fires are feed and his deamons appear. Pacts are made where the deamon engines march to war in the great game but he of course gives bits of himself to create them.

Once one of the mighty Pantheon, now reduced to an eternal toil to create infernal daemon machines for his former peers, all the while secretly plotting his return to power and his revenge for the treatment given to him. I can imagine an exchange between Hashut and one of the Big 4. Khorne comes in and asks for 800,000 brass scorpions. Hashut replies forgetting he lost his place "my price for such a task is 8 billion souls" to which Khorne interrupts him by grabbing Hashut by the beard telling him "Your price is I don't beat your ass worse than the Void Dragon did during your defeat!" Hashut cowering abides and immediately begins his labours for the Blood God. A little bit later Grandfather Nurgle approaches his forge and would like to place an order for 7 million blight drones. Hashut minding his manners this time explains how he would love to grace the Maggot King with such a gift, but he is busy completing this task for Khorne and he isn't allowed any deviations. Nurgle being amicable nods in understanding and quietly leaves. After Hashut finishes his 100,000th Brass Scorpion for the Blood God, Nurgle returns with some "good news". He discussed Hashut's situation with Khorne and he agreed to reduce his order to 100,000 brass scorpions. Thus leaving Hashut free to immediately start work on his 7 million Blight Drones for dear Grandfather Nurgle.

@@N0TS0uh In the realm of chaos you are either master or servant. I mean there are some Daemon Princes that carve a small fifedom that no one wants out of the ever-changing wastes. I wouldn't say Hashut has fallen that low but is well more on par with Mallal the chaos god of Disbelief. Not exactly his rival but their goals are contradictory from one another. As for the Forge, well the price of the Forge is of his design, all souls taken, all metal scrapped and you must fight in the Forge's defense. It is getting stronger but not enough to confront let alone resist one of the whims of the Big 4. But he is reduced to a bargaining chip in the great game be it making Blood Slaughters for Khorne, Towers of Pleasure for Slaneesh, Plaugereapers for Nurgle, or Silver Defilers for Tzeentch.

Hair that grows from scar tissue can be white due to the pigment cells being damaged. If Ikit was covered head to toe with burn scars the damage could be what causes the white fur.

Ikit claw is probably the most famous skaven that I have ever personally read about and have been able to get the pleasure of playing through Total War Warhammer 2. And I find a hilarious since they said his campaign is very difficult when in reality it's probably the most easiest and most ridiculous campaign that you can play and just appear out power fantasy that you get throughout that whole campaign. What's this filthy man thing trying to take me out unleashed the nukes!! Stunted things coming at me with cannons and copters well time to unleash my whole Army of rattlin guns! Haha! Just too much fun was in that campaign though his winning condition is probably the most ridiculous and not in a fun way

Playing it now. I find it somewhat hard to expand (but that might just be because I suck) but my idea/story is that Skavenblight and surrounding ares is just Ikits "base of operations". Ikit and his army go around the world looking for treasures, loot and stuff and pop back home once in a while to get new toys and step on a few heads to make sure everyone knows who's the boss :) The world is just a big testing range for new boom-things.

One thing I always liked about Warhammer lore is that it properly subverts expectations. Ikit is a proper example of defying the stereotypes of a species. Skaven superficially look like little more than rats with a penchant for talking more than you would like. You would think the only way they survive is to breed a lot and not expect a high standard of living, yet, within their culture, you find they are as dangerously intelligent and capable of producing genuine geniuses as any other. I like it when a fantasy lore works on the idea that a species is not stupid, just different. It lets you really expand your horizons intellectually, which is why we love Warhammer and Warhammer 40k: they are games and lore for people who like to think.

I can think 3 other possible reasons for the white fur on claw. 1 what ever medicine he used to regrow caused it. 2 he's taken to bleaching it. Or 3 he grafted some flesh fur from a white furred "donnor".
