If I had to guess, Belakor is probably the being who sabotaged the polar gates, granting Chaos access to the Mortal world for the first time. This would have been the deed he performed to earn the favor of the Chaos Gods in the first place, which suggests that he may have even been one of the Old Ones himself.

Be’Lakor got more lore in AOS in one edition than he ever got in all Warhammer. They even rela book in the Broken Realms books in his perspective. I love how in AOS we are finally getting Daemins of Chaos perspective. Even the lesser daemons.

Be’Lakor is the wild card of the forces of Chaos: fighting for his own, inscrutable ends outside of the most chosen of the Gods of Chaos. When he becomes the Master of Shadows in Mordheim is another really cool tale of Be’Lakor influencing the events of the Warhammer World.

I appreciate your attempt at making Bel'akor relevant in Warhammer 40.000 given how much GW has been incapable to give him any significant action in that universe. Besides failing at destroying the Phalanx when a literal Deus Ex Machina dumped him of the ship. Good video though. A bit sad there wasn't anything on his action in Broken Realm given that's the highest he ever went as an antagonist.

@@WitcherCrow Exactly. It basically took him a new model to do something relevant. For one the most infamous and terrible of Daemon Princes in both universe, the only event he got present are : The Charadon War, with him being present for...whatever reason, we'll see when the book is out. And the Thirdteenth Black Crusade, in which he basically fails from A to Z to take an under-secured Phalanx because the Legion of the Damned appeared out of nowhere to save the day. My main problem with Bel'akor in 40k is that he's basically an imported character from AoS, like most daemons. But where other characters, like Skarbrand or Kairos Fateweaver are given enough screentime in both universes to be relevant, Bel'akor is ...there, but does nothing. He wasn't there for the Horus Heresy, has no particular action in any of the 12th Black Crusade, and even if he's suppose to "help" or "manipulate Abaddon in the shadows...there is nothing illustrating that. He was imported from Fantasy to 40k, but wasn't given the proper place to appear as...anything relevant in 40k.

Anyway. here is a reddit thread about Be'lakor's actions in both fantasy/AoS and 40K just before Broken Realms and Charadon. He has a solid starting base and is proceeding forward. That's better than most named characters both old and new who have barely two lines of text between them. In WHFB he is the MVP bad guy and in AoS his involvement in Broken Realms was arguably the most impactful. >Skarbrand and Kairos These guys rarely appear. I can count on one three-fingered hand how many times these guys appeared over this decade. Be'lakor has more screentime than them and relevance. You should have mentioned Doombreed, N'kari, or the Changeling.

What I meant is that for all the supposed "importance" he had has THE Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided in 40k...well, let's just say it took some times for him to start a narrative in that universe. He'q technically been around since his former model's release during the...5-6th Edition of 40k, I think ? So yeah, it's good to see him again. But it's long overdue that he should be doing stuff as important as characters like Typhus, Ahriman or even Abby.

What are the pros and cons of serving chaos undivided. First thing comes to mind is that you technically are independent you don’t have to serve any of the chaos gods and they essentially have to compete for your favor and attention

The downside is that it is much more difficult to gain favour with any of the Chaos Gods, which is why very few Daemon Princes are actually of Chaos Undivided.

A common trope I notice in Warhammer is that the first is usually the greatest. First Emperor Sigmar Heldenhammer, first royarch Giles Le Breton, first Phoenix king Aenarion the Defender, the Dwarf ancestor gods, Nagash was the first necromancer, and as mentioned here, Be’lakor was the first Daemon Prince.

Interestingly that makes a lot of sense. To Unite a Number of Tribes, Kingdoms, Kingdoms takes a very strong and capable leader. Or in Be'lakor's case to trick all chaos gods into giving you power it takes a cunning and ruthless person, and since the gods learned from this mistake they never gave that much power again. Some of the greatest rulers in History were also "firsts". Charlemagne took over half of a devided realm and used strength, cunning and ruthlessnes to reunite it, and take over the rest of central europe. Alfred the Great ruled the last of the saxon kingdoms in england and reconquered / United the remains of the saxon kingdoms (his son finished the job later). and so on^^
