Having old school Gotrek in an AoS army without Felix is depressingly appropriate.

Just want to say, Channels like yours have really helped me get back into being interested in painting models again, I still had an unfinished, well pretty much untouched, battalion of Dunedain from Middle Earth Tabletop which I bought many eons ago, when I was still a teen, LOTR was always more my stuff but I do like 40k too, and I just went for it and bought brushes and a few Valejo paint sets and washes, channels like yours helped me understand how to paint again, not that I was ever good but I was astounded how good the first few models came out to be, helped me take the edge and my mind off a very hard breakup, so thanks

Yup, first time I ever dropped a metal miniature into acetone I learned the hard way to remove the base first as well! I've yet to try using acetone to strip a mini because primer doesn't want to entirely come off...? Or do I just have to get into those crevices and get granular removing it? This reminds me of how I just rebuilt a couple of models I'd been slacking on because I hate pinning metal models and I finally realized it was because my drill bit was too old and dull and needed replacing.
@eBayMiniatureRescues3 ай бұрын
If the model is metal then throw it in, the primer should come up. If it's not coming out of the crevices it's probably drying before you can get in there deep enough to scrape the paint out, or it's sticky. That's why I like the wire brush, it gets in those cracks, anything that doesn't take off you probably won't even notice after being primed again because it's so small. I did the same thing with a model the other day trying to pin it. I got mad and then realized it was the drill bit being totally dull, swapped it out and it was like butter!
@MaskedRiderChris3 ай бұрын
@@eBayMiniatureRescues There's also the issue of getting the drill bit to bite into the metal instead of just slipping and sliding all over the place. And then drilling in at the wrong angle/place! Fun.

@eBayMiniatureRescues3 ай бұрын
The only place that jumps ahead a little was from the airbrush step. Darker skin, lighter on top, then a glaze of redish purple in the shadows for the definition, bright skin with a brush on top to define the muscles a little better. After that I didn't do anything else, what are you looking for specifically, I'm sure I can help.
