​Well, what a lot of warhammer related stuff doesn't show you is times where there's no immediate crisis, like great hordes of chaos related things, slavers, pirates or other shit. Granted, this world is *hella* dangerous, with wandering beasts like trolls or wolves, fact that dead might just randomly get up and start walking on their own even without aid of mages, or even just fights between nobles / countries, but even then, people must have some fun and entertainment in this world, other ways, no way in hell things like fashion, cuisine or merchants would be a thing. After all, its pretty hard for people to think about luxuries when death is breathing at your neck.

We rarely see happy times in the Warhammer fantasy universe because we all only look on the war aspect of it. Since that's what the game is about. Peace times would be boring for most people. But i have no doubt there are good times from time to time.

Man ever since I was introduced to Warhammer it's always been grim, serious struggle. I know that's the appeal, and I like it, but this mission was so positive and upbeat... it can work in the setting you know? Love it.

If you ask me, Warhammer isn't meant to be depressing all the time. It's meant to be a terrifying hellscape to the people in the setting, but to us the audience, it's meant to be silly. Coked out super mutants in power armor being revered as angels or scheming ratmen constantly stabbing each other in the back is more ridiculous than anything, and that's likely intentional.
