Tatyana i just wanted to say that guy who criticised your speaking voice in one of your other videos is a fool he has not got a clue!Dont listen to him .I think your speaking voice is incredible ,warm ,polite and beautifull just like your music and the way you play it.You are an inspiration to every guitar player and the way you pronounce the word muscles is soooo cute :).Thank you for the music!

I’ve been getting my feet wet playing classical guitar with my background being mostly hard rock. This video is absolutely fantastic! The hammer on pull off exercises are similar to one’s I do already but put a classical emphasis on them which I love and need right now. Can’t wait to get my first classical guitar and start doing these exercises.

Yup- Maestra Tatyana sold me on the Ergoplay Tappert guitar support. Literally saved my back- too many years using a footstool. She’s showing very nice, relaxed left hand position for warm ups. My mentors also taught me about making sure the guitar’s string height/action was set correctly and fretting with just enough pressure to produce the sound before the note buzzes. On another video Maestra has also suggested trying different string gauges. On my vintage Japanese classicals I like to use medium tension basses and regular or medium high trebles so the melody notes stand out. My ‘78 Ramirez is a period piece with its Segovia-esque high action. I use a light tension string set since I don’t have Segovia’s sausage sized left hand fingers. My Hill Fleta copy sounds best with Savarez, but takes effort. My Bouchet copy sounds good with either mixed or regular tension strings. This is so much fun to talk about, but enough for now. Thank you Maestra...

So glad to have found this - great exercises. I've been neglecting my a finger, and these really intergrate all the RH fingers to create a relaxed and balanced hand, as well as L-R independance. The RH fingerings are very important, and it seems she may have forgot to explain them for the last 1/2, so I will state them for all who want to know. #1-5 are all of course as she said aimi. #6 mima #7 amim #8 amim #9 mima #10 miai

I had to sign in to comment (first time ever) I found you yesterday and I tried your advice today and I just wanted to thank you for sharing this information. I have never had a formal lesson and have taught myself everything. this was right on time in my development. After only doing it once, wow I can see where is going to transform my playing. Thank you again so much!

Today i did the entire warm-up (very slowly, it's hard at first) and my playing is sooo much better already. Things I've been struggling with I'm now play with comparative ease. Pieces like Layenda and La Catedral, haha still a ways to go but now I have new energy and feel someday they will be mine. Can't wait to start the "tremolo" exercise after I get the warm-up down. Don't know if you'll ever see this, but thanks again I owe you!

good video thanks for posting, if advanced players want a variation you can do the exercises from the first half of the video but instead of staying on the 1st (e) & 2nd string (b) start on the 5th & 6th strings at the 1st fret than stay in the same position (1st- 4th fret) but move down through all the sets of strings 4th & 5th, 3rd & 4th, 2nd & 3rd, till you do 1st & 2nd strings so now that you've done all the strings at 1st position move up to the 2nd position (starting at 2nd fret) and reverse the pattern for example if doing 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 4th fingers do 4th, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, and go back up the strings till you finish the 5th and 6th strings than shift up one more fret so now you're starting at 3rd fret and start exercise over, can keep shifting up the neck 1 fret at a time till your hand starts to get tired if you want a workout or just go a couple frets for each exercise. if you know scales and arpeggios you can do endless different sequences with those as warm ups also

Wow. I never did any warm ups before. I just followed your warm up suggestions before playing a piece and I noticed a major improvement in how I played the song. Many thanks. Do you have any suggestions on books that have nice pieces for intermediate players to improve their skills and at the same time don't sound boring like regular exercises? I haven't noticed any improvements in my skills for a long time, as I play random pieces that sound good, but don't improve my skills by a lot.
