Thank's a lot Tatyana, I am playing classical guitar since I was 14 and now I am 67 and for the first time diving so deep in barré technic. You confirm some toughts I had on it and you give some way to solve them ... Ex: The thirt and fift mesuse in Cavatina... Lowering my left helbow and getting my left first finger closer to the fret and turning it a bit towards the headstock and VOILÀ !!! No more buzz. What a fantastic guitariste and pedagogue you are... Take care, Cadie.

Thanks for the fascinating lesson. One point I noticed in most people's tutorials and book lessons that is often overlooked, and in my opinion is crucial to getting students to comfortably learn barre forms, is the placement of the thumb on the back of the neck of the guitar in relation to the rest of the hand. This may seem like something most teachers think you might intuit and just get right without having to think about, but I believe most of the physical discomfort beginning students feel could be allayed by simply having them rotate their thumb to the right orientation so they aren't exerting more muscle force than necessary. The natural inclination of a lot of students is to choke down on the guitar like they're holding a baton, but if they start picturing their thumb more as a pivot that rotates freely up and down, following the angle of the wrist as it shifts the fingers to reach upper or lower strings, this would be a very beneficial way of thinking about the mechanics of fingering.

Gold tips for me after 40 years of playing my hands get tired very soon with Barre chords. Now I squeeze downwards with my forearm and I won't have to use so much power to push down other fingrs too. So technique really matters. Thanks for you and my cramping and tired hands thanks too !

@@Harold046 Yeah, good advices never die. Guitar techers really have to think good and bad habits for playing. It saves years of frustration if something did not work why do same mistake over and over again ?

@@Harold046 ...another 40 years here, and I struggle with barres as well. I always look at children playing, or very feminine performers with slender hands and have wondered how they are able to barre so well...effortlessly...what the heck am I doing wrong!!! I do have smallish hands but I watch kids with smaller hands so I know its gotta be something else. Thank you Tatyana, will try this and watch the video a couple of times more.
@ClevedonGuitarMan6 жыл бұрын
@@BobJones-zf6ie For me it was trying to get the flesh of the finger over the strings and if I roll the finger very slightly towards the fret it beds in. The other thing is to not squeeze with the thumb at the back really hard as your hand will start cramping. In fact I would practice just laying my index finger for the barre and not even touch the back of the neck with the thumb i.e kind of use the weight of your arm to get contact. It helped me anyway.
I really like your tutorials, you go the extra length to communicate with your audience, just as you do with your playing. You obviously are passionate about what you do. Thanks for all your hard work. Be safe.

Notes: Keep finger straight as capo Left side of the finger Close to frets Imagine arm weight pulls towards floor for pressure Focus on the strings you need - be more efficient Avoid lines at joints - move up and down Relax parts of the finger that are not being used Don't push through pain - try to figure out the source and correct Great lesson! 😁

For everybody is useful to learn to play music. First of all, it can learn in early ages how minimal is the useful thing in old form paper books. Of course true life means to learn first of all with pleasure, nice for our ears melody, music instrument, from the best teacher women we feel, like there. With paper books we can learn lot of lye, not white, but harmful lie in literature is "science", in love between people. So I think put in the fire the heat able paper books, put in to the commode the middle books. Start to enjoy the life, the video education ! This will made real human culture . Have good time for everybody ! The right orientation is important, I think it in priority too, so they aren't exerting more brain & more muscle force than necessary ! Life is made for everybody to be happy, to learn, work, love only with lovely things, people. For bad reasons do not loose too much time, never if you can ! Make only useful nice work with love, like Tatyana Ryzhkova does.

The arm should always be hanging on your finger(s), that's what I learned 45 years ago. You should never get the pressure by counter-pressing with the thumb. Did the technique change since then?

The attitude of your left hand is not optimal for beginners. The hand and the arm should form a line, in your case it is an angle of 90 degrees. This makes it difficult for beginners to move their fingers freely. You are certainly a good player, but unfortunately not a good teacher.
@BobJones-zf6ie6 жыл бұрын
Do make a video and post it for us so we can see your technique. In the future you can leave off the last comment you made and if you find it necessary to make those typical KZbin "troll" comments, then show us better, put your money where your mouth is so to speak.
@dougarnold79556 жыл бұрын
If your a beginner learning barre technique you should practice what she's doing at about 1220 to 12:30...for hours literally... without involving the other fingers at all. The picking sequence is extremely important to perfect and once a beginner can play that in one spot, then; transition to moving the Barre to other frets still not involving other fretboard fingers. Keeping the arm in line is a good strategy, I agree but too often beginners try to advance to adding fingers too quickly...before proficiency with the Barre alone is achieved. I think she a good teacher. The exercise from 15:35 to 16:20ish is a good one to practice a lot. I wish she showed the picking fingers a little more clearly ( I think she double strokes the first string) but double strokes with the thumb on the 6th, 5th, 4th, strings and then first and second finger alternations on the 3rd, 2nd, 1st strings strictly adhered to would be best. I realize most players don't master these things in reality but as close to mastery of them makes ones playing that much better. As fluidity increases try it at higher speeds even to the point of speed metal lead playing.
