The 2016 scoring criteria valued effective striking over octagon control and agression. Round 1: 10-8 Mcgregor It was 100% dominant by Conor. Nate didn't have a single moment and he got dropped. Round 2: 10-9 Mcgregor Despite Conor dropping Nate twice and dominating most of the round, Nate did have moments at the end of the round. Round 3: 10-9 Diaz Conor was exhausted and taking a lot of damage when against the cage. Though this can not be a 10-8 round because despite Nate winning most of the round Conor did have moments and landed good shots. Round 4: 10-9 Mcgregor If effective striking and grappling are the most important criteria then Conor absolutely won. He landed more strikes and Nate couldnt apply effective grappling due to Conor defending the takedowns. Conor was also losing the clinch battle for 30 seconds until he turned it around and escaped and returned to beating Nate in the stand up battle. Round 5: 10-9 Diaz This was a pretty close round with both landing decent shots. I don't really have to go in depth with this cause it's quite clear as much as the effective striking was pretty equal and even edging towards conor Nate did have the edge in effective grappling, octagon control and agression. Even taking conor down. Conclusion: 48-46 Mcgregor.

These knockdowns isn’t just Mcgregor knocking Nate off his feet, those punches shut his brain off for a half second. So yes Nate is very tough to knockout but only because he knows how to sustain consistent brain damage

nate diaz gameplan is to get severly beat up in hopes of mcgregor getting tired of smashing him. Conor was literally demolishing him until he gassed. This fight would have been 5 round beat down if conor doesn't gas.

@@knuckle-sandwichmma681 that's the most stupid assumption you can make. Both diaz brothers have a strong following because both of them are not afraid of any fight and never back down even if they're losing. That's what people like to see in a fight, they're not the best but they can sure put up a hell of a fight. I also like connor don't get me wrong, but the difference in a fight is that you can tell when connor is going to lose. With the diaz bros you never know unless the fight gets stopped. Also, I believe Nick would have rocked Connor harder, prove me wrong.
