Nice Build. I took a chance and built up a Warmoth Regal. I was hesitant to have a "bolt-on" Les Paul. I went with a Padouk neck, 25.5" scale and 6100 SS frets. Turns out I really like it - so much I built a second one (with a Wenge neck). I now play them more than my "real" Les Paul's. Surprising.

@@Hyperlink1337 Thanks - I am fine with the bolt-on. I did think of asking but did not feel there would be enough surface area to hold it solidly with just glue. But maybe it would work?

Aaron does such a great job with these videos, not only with his knowledge, but his whole demeanor; definitely an asset for Warmoth! Also, excellent video, I've been building guitars since Warmoth used to mail me actual catalogs with black & white photos in them (!), and I still picked up a couple really useful tips from this tutorial! That's why I also think they should have more such videos; it builds community, and shares knowledge, and we need all of those things we can get! Lastly, Aaron, I LOVE the look of this guitar, but one thing I noticed, might it not actually look a little better with a bone-colored nut...? I understand the theme, but I've been looking at that style neck/headstock with an off-white/ivory colored nut for so many years now it just looks wrong without it; and I think it would still work with the color scheme, especially if it were a particularly aged-looking bone, or Tusq, or Delrin, or whatever... Anyway, love these guitars, and love this video series, seriously, I think most of us would really like to lots more of these 'build-it' videos hosted by Aaron!

Pure Tone makes a gold output jack, they are very high quality and come in mono or stereo.

When I build a Strat, I wait till the very end to precisely position the pick guard, even after the set up so that the pickups are aligned properly. Great minds, as they say! ;)

I’m still happy with my build, but Aaron didn’t start filming assembly videos much until literally a month after my first build. I’m watching just thinking how helpful it would have been.

Jack plate is instaled oblique… On on side it touches the binding on another there is like 1mm gap…

I’ve purchased a used Warmoth ‘59 neck back in the 90’s. I’ve had it stored in the closet until recently. I was wondering how to date it using the numbers on the back?

Anything less would be uncivilized, your new favorite saying, Strap button by the pickup switch should of been lower, closer to the neck, that will put the strap at a weird angle.

Gold rings would be amazing! The rings are not included in the sets, so people can use whatever rings they prefer on their builds, but they would have to be curved to match the carved top. The only gold ones I know of are flat.

Lots of good tips (I'm sure born from experience). As the saying goes, if you are not going to learn anything from your mistakes, there is no point in making them in the first place. The wiring part kind of slipped by really fast. I was thinking it would have been easier to wire the 3 way to the o/p jack before installing the jack. But you seem to have managed to do that "magically". Isn't it hard soldering to the jack when it is already mounted?

I was really only using the jack to get the plate positioned properly. When I wire everything up I take the jack back out, wire it up, then reinstall it.

Ah, the Regal body...! I found the wiring job on this body type an absolute nightmare. With the classical SC wiring you have a lot of wires going all through the body (alone 3 just from/to the toggle), but the wiring channel is narrow and seems to have a lot of bends... not cool! 😖

@@warmoth That's good to know! So you struggled with your wiring job, too!? 🙈 It came to my mind that the best solution would be - especially for the toggle wiring - using a multiple core wire. This should save the necessary space in the wiring channel... 🤔 PS: I'm actually waiting for delivery of an Original G*bson LP Standard body/neck hulk I ordered from STRATosphere tomorrow. I'm very keen how the wiring channel is designed with this one!
